“Great room and handy to Cinque Terre”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 15, 2012

This hotel has an "Old World" look and feel from the furnishings in the lobby and sitting room to the decor in the dining room. It is well kept up and very comfortable. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is great, with an assortment of cold meats, cheeses, rolls and pastries. Also, yogurt and cereal are available. They have a great coffee machine that will give you your coffee of choice, from Italian to American, cappuccino , etc. our room had plenty of space and we had a nice view of the town from our balcony. The bath was large and had modern fittings. However, we were on one of the upper floors (3 or 4) so the water pressure was a little on the low side.

Parking was in an area adjacent to the back of the hotel. The maneuvering area was a little tight, but we didn't use our car much during our stay so it wasn't a problem. The parking was free, but since it is limited, prospective guest should let the hotel know in advance about their parking needs.

The hotel was only a five minute walk to the train station and the first Cinque Terre town only five minutes away. We found the town of Levanto to be very charming and interesting and enjoyed it as much as the Cinque Terre towns. We would definitely stay here again.

The hotel is well located. 8 min walking distance from Levanto station or with heavy bags suggest the 10 euro taxi option. The hotel is located 3 min from beachfront and the tourist/restaurant/cafe district of Levanto. The staff are friendly and efficient. The gardens and reading room offer a good alternative to the modest rooms. A very good breakfast buffet is provided. Levanto is a great launching pad to Cinque Terre being the last regional stop before the National Park. Only negative is the noise generated by the Vespas that roar up and down the adjoining road during the night...but in cooler weather closing the double glazed doors to the balcony reduces the noise to an acceptable level. In summary, if we went back again, we would not chance our luck on anywhere else in Levanto. Good value for money.

We enjoyed our stay.

Summary
1. VERY clean rooms
2. fee secured parking
3. Excellet breakfast included
4. Helpful staff
5. Lovely location. You can enjoy Levanto, and also easily get to the Cinque Terre towns.

I would recommed this hotel especially if you have a car. Parking in the area is complicated.

We felt the price was reasonalbe since it included secured parking and a quailty breakfast.

The only minor issue for us wa that the internet only worked in the lobby and retaurant area. We have an online business, so that was not ideal. However, in truth, Levanto and cinque terre was so lovely, we enjoyed the disconnect.

AC/Fans... We opend the interior windows, but left the shutters closed. That was fine for us. Otherwise, the hotel can provide fans.

Lovely hotel. Warm staff. Free parking. Central location next to beach and 5 minutes walk from the train station. Delicious breakfast.
Provides bike hire. Would reccomend a trip through the nearby tunnels.

We stayed at Hotel Palace for six nights in August 2012. We can't speak highly enough of Levanto itself, as a town it is fabulous and we were so glad we chose to stay there. It's the perfect size (not too big but still loads going on, great atmosphere, excellent bars and restaurants etc.) But we weren't overwhelmed by Hotel Palace.

Nothing was particularly bad or worthy of complaint, but I have stayed in far better hotels for the same price we paid to stay at Hotel Palace. Our room was spacious but very basic. The bathroom was very clean but tiny! There is no airconditioning or ceiling fans which was a problem for us. We didn't sleep well on the first night, so asked at reception if they had a pedestal fan we could use in our room. Luckily they did and it was bought to our room immediately, which we were very thankful for. The fan helped a lot and we managed to sleep much better with a bit of air flow.

Breakfast is included in the room rate and was very nice.

The hotel is in a good location, close to the train station and to the beach. It was a bit noisy though with traffic going by on the main road.

Overall we had a pleasant stay, but I don't think we would choose Hotel Palace again if we were ever to return to Levanto.

This hotel certainly has character. High ceilings and fans in the lobby give it an air of days gone by. The décor and furniture continue on this theme unfortunately to the point of tiredness. I was surprised that our basic room had no air conditioning (or fan) but we were told that it wasn’t necessary. I would have to disagree – we had the hottest night on our trip here although it was just about bearable.

Overall, not a bad value hotel. The tiredness of the place was reflected in a fair price, particularly with free parking and a very enjoyable breakfast. The hotel is also situated close to all amenities. Free Wi-Fi is available but only downstairs in the main lounge.

We just loved our three night stay at the Hotel Palace. Our room was spacious with a gorgeous balcony and large bathroom. Our hosts were were so welcoming and helpful in every way possible. It was great having parking at the hotel so we could just leave our car and walk everywhere. The hotel is very conveniently located a few minutes to the train station, beach and ferry wharf. Each morning we enjoyed a gorgeous breakfast with a wide choice of fruit, yoghurt, cereal, pastries and hot food. In the evenings we could stroll to eat dinner in one of the many restaurants Levanto has to offer, but the hotel also offers a brilliant dinner too. Outside is a lovely terrace where you can access the internet (also could in our room above) and enjoy a coffee or wine surrounded by the beautiful garden. I would highly recommend this wonderful hotel.
