“Nice quaint property!”
Reviewed June 22, 2012

Nice property with a wonderful location. The breakfast could have been better, but the service was second to none. The room size was adequate, and the linens were great. There was a nice rooftop garden with nice views. Our room had a nice view of a piazza, but a friend had a view of a neighboring hotel and a busy street.

This is a very good place to stay in Levanto. It is closed to most restaurants in the small town and it takes only 10 minutes to walk to the railway station. Friendly staff speaking perfect English and good advice regarding restaurants (the hotel has no restaurant).
They have paid parking but we were advised a street with free parking not far away from the hotel, saving us 15 euro.

This is a elegant hotel and the hosts are genuinely hospitable and helpful. The rooms are large and bright with shutters opening out to small balconies and there is also a rooftop garden. The baths are small by Aust standards but more than adequate and the whole fit out is of a high standard and immaculately well maintained. We really enjoyed the breakfast and the dining room is also a very nice area, there is also a lovely courtyard leading out from the dining area.
The best part, however was the location close to the pedestrionised area with many bars, cafes and restaurants. This is a good base for exploring the Cinque Terre, with easy and quicker access by train. Probably better than staying at the Cinque Terre because of the greater variety and cheaper dining.

After driving around Levanto half a dozen times trying to negotiate the myriad of one way streets trying to get to a B & B we cut our losses and settle don this hotel. A very pleasant surprise to say the least. Friendly owners, friendly house staff and a great breakfast based on our other Italian experiences. Room was clean, comfortable and more than adequate. While the bathroom was small, it too was clean and well supplied. Close to everything and good value for money. Those very few who have written negative reviews need to get around a bit and see what else is out there! Unless you're going 5 star in Europe, most hotel rooms/bathrooms are small; that's just how it is so suck it up! If you want 5 star luxury for 3 star prices then go to Bali, not Europe.

We stayed here as our base hotel for Cinque Terre. The staff was so friendly. The rooms were spacious, breakfast was good, and the town of Levanto is so charming. Plenty of good restaurants in town, and the beach is AWESOME!!

Room Tip: The front rooms with a balcony face a "busy" street and seem a little more noisy. The bac...

I stayed here for two nights while touring Italy with my high school's choir, and let me start off by saying it would be hard for a hotel to screw up while being in such a beautiful location and this place did not disappoint!

The hotel is very pretty and quaint but you can tell it’s an old building, especially with the elevator which can barely squeeze in one person with luggage, so that was a bit of a pain.

The front desk provides complimentary beach towels which we were able to keep for the entire duration of our stay, which was a really nice surprise! The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, and the front desk is staffed 24 hours a day. One occasion that was particularly sweet to me was when a few of my friends and I were going to the beach very early in the morning to watch the sunrise, and we asked the man at the desk for some towels. When he gave us the towels he very sweetly told us to be careful and not to go swimming because the tide is dangerous that time of day. Later when we got to the beach I turned around and saw that he had come to make sure we were safe :)

My friend and I shared a basic double twin bed room. I loved it! It was very sunny and open and had a bright, summery vibe. The bathroom was on the small side, however.

The breakfast bar was awesome, served in typical European style but with huge variety. There is a shady garden to eat in, but my friends and I carried our food up to the terrace at the top of the hotel. What a view! It’s decorated with lush flowers and surrounded by mountains.

The location is great, only a five - ten minute walk from the beach and about a twenty minute walk from the train station that connects to all of the towns of the Cinque Terre. Speaking of which, staying in Levanto is a great alternative to staying in any of those towns. Expect far less crowds and cheaper rooms and food, all the while being on a great beach and surrounded by forested and terraced mountains. As mentioned, you can easily connect to any of the more famous towns by a cheap train ride.
