“Awesome Views, Awesome Hotel”
Reviewed October 5, 2013

Second last hotel on a 21 day driving trip though Europe covering 2648 km. plus . Three countries ,nine cities hence nine hotels and this was my absolute favourite. We chose it through Trip advisor so our thanks goes to the great service they provide and all the super people out there who share their advice with avid travellers like ourselves .
The hotel is located away from the city centre and easy to find particularity with GPS. A large parking area is located at the front of the hotel making loading and unloading luggage easy . The exterior of the hotel is pleasant and well kept as is the reception area .
The rooms are extremely spacious with plenty of storage space . The bathrooms are also large . Best of all there were sliding doors leading on to a large private patio and a view I will never forget. Mist rising from the valley floor and mountains all around . Utter silence except for the crow of a rooster in the distance and the church bells peeling on Sunday morning . Blissfully peaceful .
Breakfast selection was enormous .
The service was amazing . Not only did they proved a shuttle service to take you and pick you up at the train station . They helped us choose restaurants and made reservations for us in the Cinque Terre . On those short drives we learned that the hotel is family owned . We also learned a bit about Levanto itself and how the hotel had fared during the torrential rainstorm of 2011. One evening they actually helped us choose a restaurant right in Levanto , made the reservation and not only drove us there but picked us up several hours later .
I call that helpful considering they also have a restaurant in the hotel , but rather than appearing offended they were happy to help.
I can't say enough good things about this hotel . It truly was the one place hard to leave.

We arrived at the train station as I'll prepared travelers with no cell phone...I know rather crazy. We were trying to sort out how to get a taxi when up pulls the van from Park Hotel Argento. With a welcoming smile we were given a quick ride to the hotel. Our experiences were only positive from there. The hotel is a short walk from the train station on the hill outskirts of Levanto. The grounds and building were beautifully kept and very modern. Our room was very spacious with an extremely comfortable bed. The morning breakfasts are really out of this world, especially sitting on the terrace overlooking the hills.
The owners ( sorry but have forgotten the two gentlemans names) were very helpful during our stay and really go out of their way to make your visit as comfortable as possible.
If doing the cinque terre region this is definitely THE BEST spot to stay.

The owners of the hotel have an excellent knowledge of the region (cinque terre and the Italian riviera) and were very welcoming and helpful to the point of planning our itinerary for our all too short stay. The hotel is located just a short walk to levanto train station where a 10 euro cinque terre card could be purchased proividing 24hour of train journeys which is by the far the quickest and most convenient way of exploring the five villages.

The hotel facilities were great and breakfast excellent. We will be recommending this hotel to all our friends and to you too!

Room Tip: Rooms with balcony are great for evening views and drinks

We happened upon Park Hotel Argento because our first hotel forgot to reserve our stay, and suggested that we would be pleased. We are so happy to have met Hervé Marinier and his team. They treated us like royalty from the first email confirming the new last minute arrangements. My children felt like they were at home and the restaurant staff treated them like their own children, hats off to Daniele and the rest of the restaurant team. Close to the train station, close to downtown Levanto and the beaches, ideal for Road cycling. The chef does a great job mixing up the diner menu and the Bass was to die for. I will definitely return to visit our new found friends on our next passage. Merci Hervé..Marc, Josée, Nicholas et Anabelle

From the moment we were picked up from the train station we knew we would have a marvellous few days at The Park Argento. The wonderful breakfast set us up for the day of resting by the pool, using the Wellness Centre, reading the newspaper provided and planning the next days activities. The hotel staff were very friendly and very knowledgable of the area. The rooms were delightful, spacious and cool.I especaially loved sitting out with my morning cuppa just listening to the sounds.

Room Tip: we had 2 rooms next to each other, as with family and this was excellent and luxurious

Large great rooms and wonderful SPA area. Large breakfast, beautiful breakfast terrase.
Friendly shuttle service whenever you want ! Nice walk down to town but quite steep back up again in the heat. Levanto is a nice city and only minutes by train to Monterosso.
Noicy pool area as this is place suited for children. No lunsj, only bar snack (not recommended)
Thin walls, and rooms under the restaurant will get noise from there.
Tunnel - walk to the next town north (or preferably by bike) is recommended. Nice marked in Barossola on thursdays.

We were booking late for a week's summer break and weren't hopeful of finding accommodation for three of us and our little dog. tripadvisor to the rescue - thank you. The Park Hotel Argento came up with top reviews and had space for us - most fortunately.
Here are my quick comments - no negatives :) -
- very helpful and ultra pleasant management and staff (nothing too much trouble)

- on check in, Sabine was hugely helpful with information on local attractions, train timetables, restaurant bookings etc. great PR.

- spacious comfortable rooms : we had a garden room with covered terrace, super little sun trap. (The body lotion in the bathrooms was a treat: thick and creamy).

- excellently located on a hill above the town, but not too far for a walk to the centre, the train station for the quick ride to Cinque Terre. No sea view, but rather nice view over to green hills.

- great breakfast spread, lots of variety, though be quick getting there as the plain croissants get zipped up fast.

- plenty of parking and has a garage.

- we loved our evening visits to the Wellness centre for an excellent steambath, sauna and then a slow meander through a variety of aromatically scented mist showers. Really well done.

- it was a treat to have two English newspapers to read daily. A very nice touch.

- Our little King Charles Spaniel was welcomed.

The boat rides to the Cinque Terre are lovely for relaxing and sunning - longer of course than the train ride, but you get to see the rocky coastline and all the villages perched on the edge. The train slides through tunnels most of the way but is a quick ride to the villages from Levanto.

There are many restaurants to try out. we ate out every night, though stayed in at the hotel for two of our 6 nights. Fish is on every menu, but for those who do not enjoy fish, there are normally a few non-seafood items to have. Three restaurants are worth trying :

- Ristorante Pochi Intimi (tel 0187 807118 for recommended reservation, or fabiobrusco@hotmail.it). Of all the places we ate at, this was clearly an establishment that took pride and joy in preparing special dishes. Not the normal tourist trap type of place. Booking essential, especially for outdoor table. It is a tucked away place which of course made it worthwhile as not on tourist's route. I loved their rendition of Trofie (pasta with local pesto). This one was creamy and baked into a generous double layer of lasagne. Delicious. Service really slow, but the food is worth waiting for!

- La Grita, last restaurant on beach before entering into the pedestrian tunnels. Great seafood, as to be expected. Nice location too, above the beach with views to the horizon. Best to book, especially if you want an outside table.

- Best Spaghetti Vongole (clams) in town has to be at the Cavour restaurant. waiteress had attitude issue and many tourists, but the food is really good, there were many Italians eating there too which is always a good indication that the food is good. In high season, best to book ahead.

The Park Hotel Argento reception were great in making reservations at restaurants for us.

We highly recommend this hotel for everyone - thanks to all at the hotel for a really great 6 days with you.

Room Tip: We initially had a room near the entrance and reception, with balcony. Was spacious and comfortable...
