Description: Welcome to Osteria Tumelin Among all the symbolic buildings of Levanto we can find Casa del Capitanato, built up during the XII-XIV century. It is a really suggestive building with a gothic-romantic style, located in the historical centre of Levanto. In the low ground of Casa del Capitanato, you can find another symbol of the town:Osteria Tumelin. Here you can find the best food and the best Ligurian cookery tradition. We started our activity in 1970 , which means more than 40 years of onorate service and success. Our philosophy is about valorization of traditional cooking, paying special attention to taste and pleasantness. And here we go to a virtual tour inside the Osteria Tumelin waiting for you to become our costumers and welcome guests. Specialities

My husband and I went to Osteria Tumelin to celebrate his birthday during our short stay in Levanto. Both of our meals were so good he wanted to go back a second evening...and we would have except we were grungy from hiking and this is a pretty nice restaurant. We had a salad and mussels to start off our meal. The salad had lots of vegetables and was pretty large and my husband said the mussels were really flavorful. We followed with the sole and the restaurant's signature seafood pasta with curry. The sole was cooked perfectly and I loved the herb seasoning used, and I was also impressed when the sole was expertly deboned at our tableside. My husband's pasta portion was so big he took at least half home for dinner the following day. We ended with tiramisu, which was the best we had during our two week travels in Italy. It was very creamy and the flavors were well balanced. Besides serving amazing seafood, the service was outstanding. Everyone was very friendly and offered great recommendations. Additionally, it started pouring rain while we were there and we did not have an umbrella and the restaurant was willing to lend us one, but instead, we asked them to call a cab for us and they were very happy to oblige. While this meal was more expensive than others we had in Levanto, we felt it was the best value in the long run and could easily have eaten here again and again. We hope to return to Levanto, and when we do, we hope this restaurant is still there so we can eat there again!

We visited this family-run restaurant one lunchtime in September and had a great meal. My wife had pasta and I had half a dozen oysters to start with, which were great and then shellfish soup, which contained langoustines, prawns, mussels and clams in a tomato stock. This, too, was delicious and coupled with a bottle of the local white wine, made a fantastic meal. We shall return

Great service and fresh seafood, prepared to perfection - good ambiance, especially when dining under the outdoor canopy - a very relaxed experience.

We had read about this place in an article on the 5 Terre in Cooking Light Magazine. It was one of the best meals we had during our stay in Italy...it was very delicious! We made a reservation just a few hours before and sat outside. We had good service and really enjoyed our seafood-centric meal.

I discovered this restaurant a year ago and it has become one of my favourites. We spent the summer in levanto and ate here at least 4 times per week.
The place is owned and run by a local family who are all friendly.
The food is always fresh and good value, my favourites are alway pasta with lobster for lunch or sea bass in the oven with potatoes and olives for dinner.
Price is average considering you eat fresh seafood and large portions, costs about 40 - 50 euros per person for 3 course meal with bottle wine.
A must to visit if your in the area.
