the rooms standard are narrow and with a most unpleasant mildew smell, as they point out on the back to behind immediate of the cape of Sant' Angel, a polulated time of wild rabbits us, today infested from rats and cockroaches
that can have free access to the rooms, considered that from the balconies the cliff can be practically touched.

Having visited the island of Ischia in 2006 we discovered this little fishing village and knew that we had to stay here on our next visit! The town is closed to traffic with the exception of motorized golf carts.

If you want luxury you will pay 300 + euros on Ischia. This hotel was great for the price of $100 U.S. for a double room with balcony and breakfast.

We chose the hotel Conte due to the breathtaking view of the town of St. Angelo. It has clean, basic rooms with tile floors, the 1970's style lighting was cheesy, small bathrooms even by European standards..basic bathroom amenities and good towels...and the basic "hose" style hair dryer. Excellent remote controlled air conditioning system. The bed was very comfortable, nice sized amoire with plenty of drawers, small vanity with large mirror. There is a terrific morning staff at breakfast....incredibly beautiful views of the bay, town and Maronti beach.

The balcony rooms have small tables with two chairs and a line to dry your swimsuits. The terrace rooms have the same plus a couple of lounge chairs, and a lot more space.

The hotel is very old and charming, each room is configured differently. The breakfast room is charming. The outdoor patio dining area makes this place special. This makes up for the basic rooms and services. We paid a ridiculous 6 euros for one hour of internet service..but at least it was available. There is a refridgerator in the breakfast room for guests to use...this was great for keeping cold drinks and snacks since the room lacked a mini fridge.

The breakfast will keep you going for most of the day, with cheese, ham, fruit, yoghurt, coffee, freshly baked bread etc. Mostly Italian and German spoken at the desk. We ate dinner at the restaurant twice, it was okay, nothing special. There are plenty of great choices in town or in nearby Forio.

This island is all about SPAS & BEACHES....thermal pools, mud baths and relaxing.

The front desk can set you up with APHRODITE SPA...15 euros per person for the 5 minute boat ride over and a full day at the thermal spa with over 12 pools. The spa has a great full restaurant with an ocean view ( yes that is CAPRI you are looking at) The pass does not include a ride back...it is a 15 minute stunning walk back to the hotel.

The fishing village has an active port, and small tour boats will disembark passengers just down from the hotel, there are also yachts docked just outside the hotel.

This island is visited by Italian and German tourists. There will be very few English speaking tourists and not many hotel or restaurant staff will be fluent in English. This is the charm of the place.
