After reading about this place on TripAdvisor and chatting with some locals ("everything they serve comes from their own fields, it's like an agriturismo"), we just had to try the 'coniglio' (rabbit)!! The Ischitana way of preparing is as stew with tomatoes and white wine, a variety which Taverna Verde produces specifically for this purpose. The result is not only a delicious and tender rabbit, but also a lovely sauce, which they serve with homemade pasta as primo. So good! As portions are huge, we went for the liquors as dessert. Best rucolino on the island! On the house, we got a glass of delicious passito with a cantuccino for dipping.
The place is mostly used by locals: we were the only tourists. We went home happy and with full bellies :) Thank you, Taverna Verde, for the great service and the lovely food! A la prossima!
