“Perfect location”
Reviewed June 9, 2014

We spent three nights in Ischia at the Aragona Palace. I would have given the hotel five stars, but did have one issue. We upgraded to a room with a view (the view is spectacular); the one issue -- and it's a big one -- was that literally diagonally one floor down from our room is some liquor bar that has speakers outside. They played music until 2:30 in the morning and it literally sounded as though the speakers were in our room. The first night I thought it was just because of a holiday, but the second night it was playing at 10:30 PM and I had to call to move rooms. The staff was very helpful and gave me a new room, but assuming that the bar plays the music every night, I don't see how anyone can sleep comfortably in the room that I upgraded into. I'm 25 and not at all against music/bars/good times, but there was no escaping the noise in this room. The new room was much better, albeit with no view.

Aside from having trouble sleeping that first night, the hotel is very nice. The roofdeck has a lot of seats with a nice small pool. The hotel is just a 5 minute walk to the beach. It's location can get a bit loud with all the people walking by the port, but it's lively. There's a lot of small restaurants around, too.

The included breakfast was great and included very friendly waitstaff; the capuccino was excellent.

I would have given 5 stars, but the noise was truly that frustrating. I know it's not the hotel making the noise, but considering I upgraded and paid a decent amount for the room, a less noisy room would have been preferred. If you prefer a quieter area, I would check out the Castella Aragona hotel. It's a bit further away, but in a quiet area.

Room Tip: Don't stay in Room 110 if the music is playing outside

The hotel is in an ideal location for coming off the ferry from Naples. The employees were extremely welcoming and were very polite whenever we saw them - they all spoke good English too. We also received some complimentary drinks and treats when we arrived.

The thermal pools were brilliant - very relaxing to use first thing in the morning and later in the evening. The view from the rooftop outdoor pool looks out over the port, a very picturesque setting.

Breakfast was great, plenty to choose from for all tastes. We never ate in the hotel at night since there were so many restaurants nearby to choose from, however the menu looked appealing.

Rooms were spotless and decorated nicely, overall a great stay!

An excellent week long stay at the Aragona Palace. The hotel is an easy walk after arriving by ferry, close to the bus station for trips around the island, and an easy walk to the ponte area for great restaurants. Best of all is the first-rate customer service. An early query about our room was resolved pleasantly, professionally and completely to our satisfaction. Well done! The reception staff are amazing: great local knowledge, suggestions, always cheery in a natural and warm way. All hotel areas are spotlessly clean. And the breakfast! Wonderful selection that varies daily: muesli, poached pears, fresh fruit and huge range of cakes and pastries including freshly made, warm doughnuts. Perfetto!
A great place to stay in every way.

Have just spent 5 nights at the Aragona Palace. Lovely warm welcome from the staff and a lovely large room. Pool wasn't vast but very warm and pool area was well maintained. If we had one criticism it was that there was no tea and coffee facilities in the room, something we appreciate and would have expected in a 4 star hotel.

Hotel was in a good central position and getting round the island was easy because of the buses although be careful that you get the ticket you ask for as they do have bus inspectors, as we found out to our cost!!

Room Tip: We had a superior room at the front of the hotel. Very nice but a little bit noisy at night when peo...

We spent there a few days in December. The staff are a real asset, very kind and friendly. The swimming pool is quite small but acceptable. The hotel is very clean, rooms are large, I just would like to meet the architect...the hotel has the most horrible kitch style you can imagine. Breakfast buffet is very good.

We visited as a family with small child. The staff were fantastic, so friendly and patient. We all enjoyed the food, the choice was great particularly the buffett. Location was super. Loved the roof top pool which was so warm. Indoor thermal pool was good. Very clean.

Right from stepping into the lobby we were welcomed with open arms. The manager was so kind, spoke excellent English and couldn't do enough for us. Diego, who was on the front desk, helped us out with a few hiccups with the Wi Fi and refused to give up until it was running smoothly and wouldn't charge us a penny because it hadn't been 'perfect'.
The breakfast offered a vast choice, which included eggs, cheese, ham and lashings of fresh fruit for those of us who can't face all those wonderful sweet goods first thing in the morning.
We had a lovely room and balcony overlooking the harbour. It was so convenient both for the hydrofoil to Naples and for the wonderful choice of harbourside restaurants. The room was spotless and recently refurbished.
Then of course we had to take advantage of the hot thermal bath. Wonderful massages, facials, manicures and pedicures. The spa was staffed by two lovely ladies, Tamara and Rosanna. They thoroughly spoiled us and we were given a 50% discount on all the services!
One evening we returned quite late and the night concierge very kindly provided us with some sweets whilst wishing us sweet dreams. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a balcony and harbour view.
