The hotel was an excellent choice and the staff and management were most helpful and friendly. The rooms were very clean and we were given a room on the front of the hotel overlooking the harbour. The hotel is ideally situated for anybody coming across from the mainland on a ferry. The hotel has a roof top pool and garden area and we were sad to leave after our four day stay. The only slightly negative comment was that the breakfast buffet had no hot food but the remainder of the food for breakfast was very good.

Room Tip: Try to get a room on the front of the property.

Great location right on the harbor so the hydrofoil dock and bus stop were only a short block away and restaurants and shopping are right outside the door. Super nice staff but be aware that only a couple of the front desk staff speak English. Some of the spa staff speak a little so we were able to communicate OK with them. Great roof top pool. Spa prices were very reasonable compared to some spas I've been to. They provided 3 hrs of free Wi-fi and even had a computer in our room for our use. We were a bit concerned about noise initially since our room was at the front of the hotel but noise wasn't really a problem for us. The room is pretty plain (not posh and not much decoration) but was very clean and comfortable. They also provided terry robes/slippers and a mini-bar fridge but no coffee pot or electric kettle. The coffee provided with breakfast was excellent. The extensive breakfast buffet consisted of an incredible number of pastries/cakes/breads, cold cuts, cheese, fruits, eggs, yogurt, etc. My friend and I both agreed that we would stay here again even without the coffee pot in the room. I definitely recommend this hotel. We hated to leave this beautiful island.

P.S. We really liked Ischia even though English isn't spoken there much. We were able to make ourselves generally understood so it wasn't a big problem for us. We did hear from others travellers we met that Sorrento and Capri are a bit more English friendly if language is a major concern.

The minute we walked in the door everyone in the hotel greeted us with a smile and a warm hello. Luisa was the manager and she was sooo kind to us we even invited her to come stay at our house when she visits California. The breakfast spread in the morning was fit for a king..over 30 or more items to choose from the Buffy. We traveled with 2 friends who stayed at the Delfini hotel and the help treated them so rude. Never did they say hi or fix the air conditioning and they hold weddings at delfini hotel and took furniture out of their room for the wedding. don't even think about staying at the Delfini hotel. Luisa told our guest to feel welcome at the Aragon and there hotel is there with open arms. The whole staff at this hotel was sooo Amazing you are crazy if you don't stay at this hotel. Location is incredible..right near the dock you get off the boat and near town. The rooms have beautiful views and are sooo clean. Th natural springs pool is so warm and relaxing with the jacuzzi jets and rainfall in the pool. The pool outside is also heated all the time. I csn't say enough good about this hotel. Thank you Luisa and staff for our best stay at a Zhotel ever .....

Room Tip: Get a room with the water view..it is breath taking

I am not quite sure why this gets number one rating of hotels to stay in Ischia as I saw some very, very lovely hotels. That said, I would go back to Aragona Palace in a heartbeat and recommend it to anyone looking for a hotel on the island. The staff are amazing, so very helpful and super friendly. The location - steps away from the ferry was perfect for us as we only had a couple nights on Ischia. Rooms were nicely decorated, spotlessly clean, and spacious. I would suggest not getting a room at the far end of the hotel. Rooms 110 and 111 were very noisy from the bar next door. Even at that, we got a good nights sleep, so I didn't complain or ask to be moved.

Room Tip: Try to get a room away from the noisy bar next door to the hotel

convenient hotel for exploring Ischia.
close to ferry in harbour and close to busstop
nice walk along Via Roma (lovely shops) to Ischia Ponte (aprox 1 km)
room and bathroom good size/ tiles on floor/clean
tv/safe/hairdrier/bathrobes/slippers/ and internet
1st floor thermal spa and 5th floor rooftop small pool with sunbeds
good service and breakfast included however lots of sweet pastries that were dry and
seemed to be there every day. Decided not to eat in hotel as we were not
that impressed with breakfast.
Would advise a standard room as the harbour view room very noisy.
On wednesday we were woken up by the rubbish truck outside (10 min) that collected
everything from the restaurants down the quayside.
Hotel close to restaurants banks etc. Would describe the hotel more of a cityhotel than
a resort hotel. Also woken up every day around 0730 with hoteldoors slamming loudly.

Aragon Palace i sa 12 ou tof 10 dating in my mind. Upon our early arrival the desk personnel offered us breakfast and prepared our rooms in 20 minutes. When i informed them that I was searching for my grandfather's Ishchian roots, they research the family name and directed us to the village where it was likely he was from. We found our family roots and a great overall hotel/spa experience. We will be returning net year.

I really did enjoy this hotel. The location was great if you are coming in by boat, just a few minute walk. Our rooms were HUGE. I mean, not European huge, but ACTUALLY huge, and we had a balcony! The shower was enormous, with two shower heads, and they made an effort to get us breakfast late when we showed up early for our reservation while we waited. It is kind of far away from the gardens and spas (almost an hour bus ride) and quite a hike to the castle (which is amazing and you have to do) but other than that I really enjoyed our stay and would come back.
