We were booked to spend 2 nights at Villa Campo in September and ended up checking out after the first night. We are both reasonably well travelled and are not spoiled in terms of accommodation (we backpacked around Vietnam earlier this year), so we knew what to expect from a budget hotel. However the attitude of staff/owners made it impossible to stay there. The room we were given was on the ground floor next to the patio, which was ok, as we knew they were fully booked however the claims of the owner that it was a really quiet location was an insult to our intelligence - people were having dinner within 3 metres from our room! We were the only young, non Italian couple there and we felt really singled out - basically we didn't get the same breakfast as other guests, no pastries, no bread and no cheese, despite of politely asking several times.
Otherwise, the hotel itself is basic and quite old, the room was reasonably clean and the location was good in terms of a distance to the beach and near-by shops. It's just the people who run it really spoil the impression.
We ended up paying a bit more for our second night, but ultimately it was worth it.
