We were suppose to stay in this hotel for 10 days but left after 4 days!! the photographs are very deceiving especially of the swimming pool. The pool was dirty with algae on the tiles, could not believe it, finally after everyone complained they started to do something about the pool but it was still not right. The towels in our bathroom was so old and thread bare it was like drying yourself with sand paper, on one of the days they had cleaned the room and the bathroom had stained towels put in!!The breakfast was of a very poor standard and the Maitre d was unfriendly and arrogant. As soon as you were given menu's he would be there within 30 seconds to take your order making you hurry up, not like being on holiday at all. After having been to Italy for more then 30 years this was the worst place we had stayed in and as for Ischia it was nothing like it was 15 years ago, it is a dump. Worst of all are the taxi drivers they are a complete rip off!!! They would charge anything from 20 - 40 euros to travel 5 mins. Such a shame that this once lovely island has been ruined. We left for Sorrento and had a lovely holiday what was left of it.

The only good points about the hotel was the beautiful views and the most helpful member of staff was Edwardo who did his best to sort out our problems an absolute gentleman. He sorted out the problem with the air conditioning on our first night and problems with the Tv. The staff at reception were always polite.

Lovely hotel in beautiful surroundings (we had a balcony, sea view). The staff worked very hard keeping the hotel clean and tidy. Breakfast and dinner was great. Bar staff at the pool and in the evening were fantastic serving lovely cocktails. The rooms were always clean and tidy too.
On the negatives, we found some of the reception staff very blunt and unhelpful - our daughter was booked a single room but on checking-in were told the hotel was over-booked and her room was not available, only a 'temporary' room. This turned out to be a very poor room on the edge of the main hotel building. It had not been serviced properly with somebody's laundry hanging outside on the chairs by the room. We were promised her 'proper' room would be available the next day. Not so. Again bluntly told we were wrongly informed and it would only be available the following day - no others were available. Two days later, on being given the key to her expected room, low and behold two people are occupying the room! They were leaving but using the room as a 'day room'! We complained again and this time it was sorted promptly. Not a great start.
For myself and my wife's room - the air con didn't work properly (it was really needed given the high temperature and humidity at the time). Reception were asked three times over the course of the week to have someone take a look at it but no response. Clearly there had been a problem for a while as the ceiling panels above the unit were missing!
Finally, the mini-bar. My wife fancied a wine from the mini-bar so opened one of the bottles. After one sip it turned out to be dirty water with some very dubious debris floating in the bottom of the bottle. I took it down to reception and asked for a replacement - "go to the pool bar" was the response. No apology or anything - very poor. I would at least have thought an apology and an offer of a free glass would have been forthcoming. Summed them up really.
Evening musical entertainment was very average and suited to an older generation than ourselves.
Aside from these negatives we really liked the hotel.
Ischia is a very pretty island known mostly to only Italians, which was great. The people were friendly and we had a good holiday.

Room Tip: Choose a room with balcony and sea view.

Only getting to write a review now (life got in the way) on my stay in July 2012.
Had spent over 2 weeks there last year and loved it so much that I had to go back this
year and will definitely be an annual destination. I said it last year and was no different this
year from the beauty of the hotel and views, to the hospitality of all the staff and friendliness.
We took my parents with us this year and they loved it. They still rave about it to their friends.
We are always so well looked after there, nothing seems to be an inconvenience to the staff.
The food is wonderfully and the dinner buffet is fantastic. This is definitely the place for a stress free relaxing holiday where you want to be pampered.
It was also great to see so many of the guests we had met last year there again this year it gives a great sense of community.
P.S. should anyone from Hotel Grazia read this I just wanted to add a special note of thanks for making the 25th July such a wonderful day for us and the beautiful flowers. See you next year!

Room Tip: all rooms are clean and confortable

Fantastic hotel , splendid view, incredible food, friendly staff, good value for money.
This is the second year we go and we were amazed to see that all the people we met the year before happily returned to this hotel. There is a special atmosphere of peace and relaxation mixed with a warm and genuine friendships between the guests and all the staff of the hotel.
I would suggest this hotel to whoever wants to go to Ischia and having a memorable experience.

First impressions on our arrival were good, greeted by the manager late in the evening and invited into the restaurant for a pre prepaired salad which was very nice, the next day and there after breakfast was poor by day three I was longing for a sausage or bacon or even a fried egg on toast or all three but it was not to be, evening meal was not much better I had omlette three times, the soup was starter was ok, but no sticky toffee pudding for after, where was this gastronomic italian delight, no spag bol, no canoloni or lasagnia, my wife and have travelled throught italy from the north down to Sicely and never come across the choices of food offered at Grazia Terme. The hotel was very nice and our room very clean with a nice view, the pool area was good with a bar, entertainment was also enjoyed in the evening around the pool one evening I had a bacardi and coke when requesting another they advised me the hotel had run out. there was no Thomas Cooke Rep on hand to advise where to go what to see. The reception staff were gloomy and seemed unhappy.

Room Tip: If you have tried the food before then its up to you, get high sea view

Having just returned from hotel Grazia my wife and I felt we had to write a review. What a let down. Having read the other reviews on trip advisor for this hotel we were very disappointed in this hotel. Our main areas of disappointment were the food and the majority of the staff's attitude.
Firstly the food: This is classed as a 4 star hotel. Well the food would be lucky to reach a 2 star rating in our minds. On our arrival at about 10:30 on the first night we were greeted with a late supper of salad and a variety of meats. This we found really pleasant and thought firstly it was a nice touch to have this prepared for our arrival and secondly bode well for the forthcoming meals. How we were disappointed!! Breakfeasts were extremly poor. The meat offered was as if it had come out of a packet from Tesco and the cheese (only every one type) was like Kraft slices. Cereals were poor quality and the choice of cakes whilst a few remained somewhat unattractive. There were times when the selections ran out (namely the ham/chesse and hot selection of which was a poor scrambled egg or boiled egg) and was not replenished. And this was not at the last moments of the breakfeast timings but a good 45 minutes prior to the end. Dinner was not a lot better: there was a choice on the majority of nights of 4 main courses, one of which was an ommellete....in a 4 star hotel. The meal stated with antipasta buffet. The worst selection for antipasta we have ever seen Revolving around a multitude of courgette dishes and abourgines. Occassionally there was a plate of whitebait and/or a plate of tuna on offer, however if you were as much as 5 minutes after the 19:30 hours start to the dinning time you would find both these dishes empty and they were not as a rule replenished. In fact very little was relenished at either meal times! Other items on the antipasta buffet were tinned peas and shredded carrot along with two types of olives. Most of the courgettes dishes as were the main courses were laden with oil, which we appreciate you can expect a quantity in a place like Italy, but this was way over the top. We are sorry whilst the Hotel may market itself as a 4 star hotel the food is nowhere near 4 star quality. The management need to source a new chef we would suggest. The manager was informed of our comments regards the food and he made a note of our room number and he "would speak to the chef". Alas that had no impact at all.
Secondly: We have seen comments that the staff were very attentive and helpful. Our experience was the complete opposite. Praise should be given to the chambermaid who kept our room very clean and tidy and a credit to her always smiling. The Head waiter was a character and we believe trying to make the best of a bad job. The wine waiter/pool barman was also a jolly and pleasant gentleman always smiling and helpful. However that is as far as it goes the remaing staff to us were just there to do a job and in fact seemed misserable. As for the reception staff what a let down. Perhaps a course of happy lessons may do them all a favour.
The hotel in general is set in an area with nice views across to the mainland and with the extinct volcaneo behind. That said there is little other bars/restuarents around if you fenture out for a luchtime/evening beer. During our stay (last week of September) whilst we know it is towards the end of season it did appear as though the place was full of geriatrics who wanted early dinner and bed!!
In summary been there and wont go back. A big dissappointment and we will certainly not return.

Room Tip: Do not go!!
