Terme Manzi Hotel & Spa
Certificate of Excellence

Beautiful hotel and spa, and highest quality. An unexpected highlight was the private cooking class we had one " morning " (we went well into overtime!) They assigned an English-speaking hostess to the two of us as we were passed from chef to chef for several hours, learning several ways to prepare calamari, mussels, and clams (our requests, in advance). We had a detour to the pasta station for cooking tips, and in response to a simple question ("what are they doing over there?") spent some time learning how to roll tortelli! We finished with a tour of the kitchen, pastry operations, and pasta storeroom...wonderful. Oh, and in case you didn't figure it out, the lesson turned out to be multi-course private lunch for two at a private table set in the kitchen...of a Michelin 2-star restaurant.

The Terme Manzi is a grand hotel which is slightly dated and a bit stuffy but its two pools and relaxed atmosphere make up for this. We arrived at the end of the season and so there was a definite feeling of things 'winding down'. We were presented with the bones of someone else's fish dish remains at dinner (a Basil Fawlty moment), entered a deserted restaurant despite having booked and breakfast was sometimes a bit disorganised. Some of the staff, especially the bar staff, are what makes this hotel, they are charming, welcoming and go beyond expectation to please. However, others appear either not to know quite what they are doing or feign compete nonchalance. Treatments in the spa were 'ok', but nothing special. However, the warm thermal pools were delicious and beautifully maintained. I think that this is a hotel that is probably much more 'on its game' during the season. It is quiet, elegant and understated, but on our visit fell a bit short unfortunately.

Room Tip: Request a room overlooking the garden for a quieter stay

The spa was excellent. It was one of the best spas that is have been too. The pool and restaurant on the roof were a great place to relax. The chefs table in the kitchen is a must. The breakfast was to die for.

Room Tip: Looking over the courtyard with a balcony.

The staff was wonderful at this great hotel. It had a wonderful spa. I did not have any of the mud treatments as I arrived late on Saturday and did not have time to get a medical screening. So I stuck to a massage (if you are a female, be aware they will massage your chest region, so if this makes you uncomfortable be sure to tell them beforehand to avoid any awkwardness. They also give a stomach massage and some people find this uncomfortable so again be prepared to tell your therapist upfront.) The spa had two pools one inside another on the roof. This hotel does not have the same views you can get from other hotels in Ischia, it is also a little further from the sites, however if you want to just chill at the hotel and spa, this is the perfect place. Loved dinner at the Michelin two star restaurant, though the only draw back was having to wear a bathing suit the next day as I ate so much! I reccommend this hotel as a single spa getaway or for a girl's or couples weekend. I would not bring my friends with small children as though the staff is very accommodating many people go to the hotel to relax and small children may not be able to respect the spa-like environment. Overall it was a great relaxing experience with great food and excellent service.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the inside so you are not dealing with exterior traffic noise.

Incredibly beautiful hotel with extremely friendly personnel. Nino di Costanzo and his Two Michelin stars Il Mosaico restaurant is beyond any estimationes. Capo di recevimento Luca Renna is highly professional and will find the way in any situation. Feel like home. Will come back as soon as possible.

Amazing experience with my family at Terme Manzi. Staff is outstanding. So kind! The rooms are very good also: clean, good size, good bed, nice decor. The only little problem is the accustic between the rooms: you listen people talking in the room next.
The spa area is amazing: pool, sauna, everything!
