“Come back again and again”
Reviewed August 18, 2013 via mobile

Remembering last year's fantastic experience, we come back again to Villa Jantò on this wonderful italian island of Ischia. Well, I have to tell you I almost cried when I had to leave, it was simply too nice to be there. We stayed one week and it feels like home. The wonderful thing is, the staffs they remember what you liked before. They changed our room when it's available, our old from last year room was ideal: nice and quiet, compare to the room we have, just by the entrance noisy as hell, we did't even need to ask. now all rooms are air-conditioned. We know all the staffs now, they just treat you like family, chat and give you advice for the island tour when you need. The hotel has 16 rooms, such a small hotel practically you make friends with every guest, very pleasant atmosphere. One day, the mother (also the master chef !!)of the family villa Jantò , Maria, said they are going to give us a surprise. That evening they took all the guests to their vignard which is up on the hill, watching the sunset on the sea dinner served with local delicasies accompanied by the candles and glamorous night light of ischia, was just too good to be true. I chatted with some guests, some of them come back every year, already ten years time. Another thing amazes me is the cooking of Signora Maria is just too delicious, i gain quite a few weight in just a week, but that's what you need for vacations! The fruit/fish/vegetables are all kilometro 0, rich with original flavour which we don't find it in the north of italy, not to mention the products you find in the supermarkets which are packed and imported from thousands of miles away. Well, I will just come back again and again, and if you are lucky as i am, you may enjoy the surprise of Villa Jantò as well!

Honestly this has got to be one of the best places I have ever stayed. We were treated on one hand like royalty and on the other like close family friends. There was nothing that we asked for that was not delivered promptly and with a smile. This property is a 16 bedroom retreat in the hills with lovingly tendered gardens and plenty of quiet leafy areas to sit and relax. It is 5 minutes by car to Lacco Ameno and transport was not a problem as guests are driven to the beaches below and brought back through the day and into the night! There is an ample pool, a small thermal pool that doubles as a spa with low levels of salt (the effect on your skin is heavenly). There is also a thermal steam room with vapors coming directly from the thermal waters. My husband and I chose to have the full package which included 3 meals daily - and we were rendered speechless by the quality of the produce (all grown on the property) and the wonderful cooking provided. Everything was so affordable we ended up getting daily professional massages in the peaceful spa on the premises. Our room was immaculate, quiet and had everything we needed. Aperitives and candlelit dinners on the terrace were a highlight. Quite simply if you are looking for a classy affordable place to completely unwind with excellent food, warm and attentive staff, good facilities and easy access to the Island's sights, you won't get better than this.

Their food is delicious, the service at the hotel is great. The managers are very polite and care with what we need.

The dishes served there are varied and made by one of the managers.

The fruits and greens used in their dishes are all organic, of their own production.
There is a guy there, Michelli, he is very kind and also funny!

The place where the hotel is located is bucolic. The rooms are really good too.

Thanks for the service!

Grazie Martina, Francesca e Michelli!

We stayed here a couple of days and had arranged a price including dinner and breakfast. It's a family run hotel in the hills above Casamicciola.
We arranged pick up from the ferry, which is not cheap but still recommended as otherwise it's very hard to find the place (you will get lost). It's located in a tiny village. From the boulevard of Casamicciola it's still about 10 minutes through a maze of tiny streets before reaching the hotel.

From the beginning the welcome from the family members and the service is truly fantastic. As are the home cooked meals. As is the self-service breakfast with home-made marmelades and fruits and bread. As are the thermal hydro-massage, steambath and pool. You probably don't want to leave anymore.
Only thing to improve here is the coffee at breakfast: there is a cheap self service coffee machine. It would be much better if the great coffee served for the rest of the day (from the espresso machine behind the bar) would also be available at breakfast time.

The rooms are simple but very clean and all you need is there: a good bed and a shower. And with a bit of luck you can step right from your room-balcony into the pool area.

The hotel location is in a tiny village a bit far from town. But the owners are really doing their best to help you to get you to your destination of choice. And to provide tourist info about the island. They will explain also about the buses on the island.

But my advise would be: rent a car! The hotel-staff can help you with this. No matter how tiny, cheap or old the car might be (probably will be! ;-) ), it will save you a LOT of valuable time you would otherwise spend waiting for buses. The public transport system on this small island suffers from a range of issues: complicated, unclear, limited reach, delays. Also the last bus probably leaves before you want to.

Speaking some Italian will be really helpful as the few English speaking family members (the daughters) are not always around.

Room Tip: Room next to pool area is great so you can go directly from room balcony to the pool and spa.

Just returned home from 3 nights at Villa Janto where we celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary. From the moment we arrived, Antonio, Maria and their two charming daughters made us and our four-year old daughter instantly feel like part of the family. Maria's wonderful, home-cooked meals - not fancy, but authentic, DELICIOUS local dishes, made with love - and Antonio's friendly hospitality and willingness to do whatever we needed to make our stay perfect are what makes Villa Janto' so very special. A dip in their thermal whirlpool, surrounded by lemon trees, or relaxing in the natural steam-bath "grotta" after a day of sightseeing, spic and span rooms, a lovely, verdant and peaceful setting, friendly hosts and (need I say it again?) the most incredible meals will make you want to come back again. We certainly plan to!

We stayed at this little hotel for a week, as closure of our honeymoon trip in Italy. The idea was to travel for 10 days thoughout Italy and then take it easy and rest here for a week. We chose this place because of the good opinions we read on Tripadvisor but it was really over the top, we had a splendid time and had most probably the best food of our lives. We were not very lucky with the weather, because we travelled in October, so we had many rainy days, but nevertheless we had fun, enjoyed the view, the hotels own thermal pool and vapour cave (which made us sleep like we didnt sleep in a long time), on the sunny days we made some trips, and we really felt at home and in Family all the time, although it was end of season, we were at all time very good attended. The rooms are not very luxury, but they are functional and comfortable. The only thing we missed a bit, that the wifi didnt get to the room, but it was quite allright to use it at the reception. Dont miss the dense and delicious coffee from the old coffeemachine at the bar. All in all, we had a wonderful time and only wish to go back some day soon! Thanks to all the family and the staff of Villa Jantó for making our trip the best honeymoon ever!

My husband and I recently stayed at Villa Janto at the end of September with some friends from Australia after our son's wedding in Sorrento. We wanted some relaxation and downtime after the celebrations and we could not have chosen better!
Having arrived at the Villa by taxi, we were welcomed on the driveway by Antonio and his helpers, who then offered us coffee and home made cakes before showing us to our clean and comfortable rooms. We then spent a lovely afternoon by the pool and in the sauna and spa pool - bliss! Antonio's delightful daughter had insisted that she bring us a light lunch outside - and with a bottle of wine - perfect!
We could not fault the food - Maria's cooking and menus were all DELICIOUS! My only comment would be that the there was no time between courses to savour the delights! Otherwise, the service from everyone was faultless and the hospitality amazing - as the other reviews all state. Nothing was too much trouble
We, like other guests have mentioned were the only non Italians there which we enjoyed as opposed to so many hotels with no 'locals'.
This family run business offers fantastic value and we would go back in a heart beat.
