We stayed at the hotel la Ginestra for a week and I can honestly say it was five stars from start to finish,the staff are excellent especially Mario and Antonio they are fantastic very attentive and very friendly,we stayed half board and food was great, they also offer shuttle bus service to and from the beach. This is excellent 3* with very nice position, very good facilities, clean and comfortable rooms, nice pool. We had breakfast and dinner, food was great. Staff helpful, kind, provided professional service. I will definitely cooperate with this hotel again.
I stayed there for 4 days half board in august . I was there with my son, so the pool was fantastic. The dinner was delicious with starters, pasta,meat or fish and dessert. The waiters,Ciro,Antonio and Leonardo were so attentive to our requests during dinner. The WiF and air con were good. The only downside was the wine. I ordered a glass of red on the first day and it tasted like vinegar. I ordered white wine on the second day and it was dark yellow and undrinkable. The staff didn't tell me that I could have got a bottle and saved it for a couple of days. Other than the wine,I had a lovely time
No thrills hotel with nice rooms, nice therma pool for a very reasonable rate (50 euro) at a gorgeous island, despite the annoyance of tiny beaches still being divided in public/private and too many eldery germans, local people even are better able to speak german than english.
On arrival at the hotel the reception told us they could not find the booking. We spoke to the travel agency who rang the hotel the night before as we had not had any replies from the hotel.
They too got told that they could not find the booking but we had proof of th e mails sent to them..Anyway one of the staff led myself and my friend up some steps outside at the side of the hotel to a room at the back of the hotel kitchen. A very tired and dusty room, on inspection we found ants everywhere so we went back down to reception and the staff member took a spray and sprayed the room. However we were then left with dead ants all over the floor areas. W e went back to reception to see if there were other rooms available, yes but for an extra 12 euros per night. The room was costing 350 euros for 4 nights as it was and we refused to pay the extra.
The staff there do not speak good english but spoke german very well. So we had language problem. In the morning we were disturbed early as the kitchen staff arrived to prepare breakfast,
On inspection there were 2 grids just outside the door to the room which obviously belonged to the ant family who marched around outside the room all day.
The room in the day light was worse as the lamp in the centre of the room was torn and hanging off the ceiling with wires hanging out. DANGEROUS. the shower head was dirty and so were the tiles in the shower room.This room seemed to have been forgotten about but was used for our short holiday so we rturned to england 2 dys early as we could not stand it. I am sure that it is probably used as a staff room.On departure we were then told that the booking had been for one person and charged us another 150 euros this is turning into joke....... we refused and tried to get intouch with the travel agency no answer on the 24 hr helpline. We had to pay as they would not return our passport.
So at the moment we are waiting for the travel agency to return our calls. disgusted. We will be adding photographs to show later.
