I have to admitt that when we first arrive to Forio we didn't expect to do a long way to our hotel, but fortunately all our efforts were paid back when we arrived at Casalora. Everything was so homey and genuine. Clean room, excellent service, great fresh organic food. It looked like paradise. We spent an excellent week in Ischia and I'm looking forward to return in Forio.

Best bed-and-breakfast I've ever been to. The homey atmosphere of the place contributes to the over-all appreciation of the island itself. Its a family-owned business where everyone contributes in some way. Home-cooked dinners made with fresh, of-the-moment ingredients are available for a small fee and are superb. The rooms are very clean, and the grounds are filled with filled lemon, red peppercorn, and other indigenous plants. The place is equipped with a small gym area, a natural hot-spring sauna, a pool, and many hammocks.
They offer rooms of various sizes to accommodate all sorts of trips, some even have small kitchens. The view is breath-taking; the sea and mountains jump out at you from the pool area.
The best form of transportation for the island is either a small car or a scooter because the narrow roads are somewhat difficult to navigate around.

TL;DR: Fantastic stay, beautiful view/food, homey and warm feel

Ischia is one of the most beautiful places I have been, unspoilt by tourism, and a real gem. I have been a number of times and always stay at the Casa Lora. The Casa Lora is a beautiful family run place where you are always made to feel welcome . It has everything you need from a place to stay and so much more! It has a beautiful clean pool area with stunning views of the sea and the volcano, here you can laze away the sunny days. The rooms are light and airy with beautiful high ceilings, they are very clean and well maintained. All have an outside area with lovely view. Meals are served on the terrace,. all food is delicious, locally sourced and cost effective, in fact on a number of nights we just stayed there enjoying the atmosphere and meeting the other guests. There is a natural sauna and beautiful gardens to roam around. It is also Ideally situated for an explore around the rest of the island.I would highly recommend a stay at Casa Lora, in fact I am returning again in October. 5 STARS;.

I was in the south of Italy and I needed a place to spend a few days to unwind, work in peace and sunbathing, if possible. A friend of mine without hesitating, said to me: " don't worry I will book you in a place that will meet your needs..."

To make the long story short, I was suppose to stay for a few days and I stayed for almost a month !!!

From the historical, rustic, cozy bedroom with a fantastic view like no other, to the kind family that run the place, that serve you home cooking with fresh ingredients with unexpected company, like other guests that can eat at the some table, everything was a great surprise to me !!!

Not to mention the gardens, the pool, the natural sauna ( steam coming through pipes connected to the famous thermal springs in Ischia )...

Last but not the least, the "ENERGY" of the place it self, is difficult to describe it...

If you seek something different than the usual in this sector, try this place, doesn't matter if you are alone, a couple or a family....

Definitely highly recommended !!!!

I would like to send my gratitude to the man of the house - Paolo, also his wife and their beautiful babies that I had the opportunity to meet.

Best wishes from Kenya,
Joao

I've been back to Casa Lora a few times, Paolo and his family make you very welcome, like part of the family, great traditional cooking, the views are amazing. It's easy to get to once off the boat and then you can relax, enjoy the views, drink wine whilst watching the sun go down and the lights of the island come on. The rooms are bright, airy and very clean, everyone should stay here once in their lifetime!

Room Tip: All rooms are fantastic, quiet with beautiful views!

Casa Lora is a special place to stay. My husband & I, along with our 2 small children do not care much for large establishments, hotels etc
This place is heaven. Remote, big rooms & relaxed. It's like a big family house that you can just hang about. Perfect

stayed here for four days and wish it could have been longer. Very peaceful, a ten minute bus ride outside Forio (easily reached by cheap and frequent buses) in a beautiful quiet location above the town. The gardens and pool are simply stunning, with excellent and plentiful pool furniture and lots of shade and well maintained. Rooms are large and comfortable, and we also had a lovely balcony with a great view. Breakfast is served outside on the shady terrace and is a very leisurely affair with homemade jams and fruit from the garden. The owner, Mirella, is very welcoming, extremely helpful and the perfect host. Dinner is offered as an option but we were very happy to go into town. We would definitely come back - travelling here was easier than we expected - direct bus from Naples airport to port then lots of ferries to Ischia Porto or Forio.
