This place is an absolute gem. Like the person who has reviewed before, we found the family who run Casa Di Scina to be so welcoming - like our very own Italian family. They tolerated our lack of Italian with great patience and we found them very nice to talk to, even though we only knew a few words of Italian. They served us an amazing three course dinner with all produce made by the family. Olives, vegetables, cured meats, wine, bread and a strawberry liquer! To finish they served the most amazing pudding of frozen wild strawberries - so delicious that I think I'll be dreaming of having again for the rest of my life! The rooms are fitted to a very high standard and have beautiful balconies overlooking the hills of the National Park. Breakfast is another treat - coffee, croissant, and homemade jams, mamalade and honey. They also served fresh doughnuts and were so kind in letting us take for our journey. We will certainly return again!
While you are visiting the area, go to Scavi di Velia. It is an archealogical site in nearby Marina di Ascea - the oldest greek city in Italy. We were so glad to visit it as it was wonderful and really not very well known, despite being a UNESCO world heritage site. It only costs 3 euros too!
