“a very good hotel”

We stayed for one night after driving the amalfi coast road. The drive up was spectacular. The hotel is very welcoming, great service, friendly staff, clean well equipped rooms and really excellent value for money. Most people will not think to go inland from amalfi, but the drive there really is a once in a lifetime experience, and the welcome is warm, the pool inviting and the town an interesting alternative to staying on the crowded coast.

We were booked here by Inntravel on a walking holiday. It is a small family run hotel. Nichola Acampora, the owner is the friendliest and nicest hotelier I have ever met. Nothing was too much trouble. The hotel is not posh and a great place to stay if you are thinking of walking the classic Amalfi trail - "The Path of the Gods". You can walk from the hotel - the path starts just down the road and it is mostly downhill to Positano with spectacular views. The hotel was clean and the food was Italian home cooking. There is a small newly installed pool which we did not use. If there is a small downside, it is that several large tour groups use the hotel as a base for group walking - there were two large tables of 20 people each and then ourselves and another couple on two tables for two. It did not bother us at all, and we were made such a fuss of that I saw it as an advantage. There were only two of us and we were brought enough anti-pasti for six! I was full, but still managed to eat the pasta course, fish course and then a pudding too. It was a good job we were walking the next day! We were picked up from a village down the road by Nichola himself when we arrived and had beer, locally made wine and coffee. When I went to pay the next day, Nichola refused to take any payment, saying it was a present. We were treated like royalty and I long to return.

Great friendly hotel which was used as the base for our weeks walking trip. Lots of great walks from the hotel door. The pool was small but nice and deep so beware ,its 2 meters down and if you go the wrong way off the steps as I did you get quite a shock! Great for aching muscles after a long walk. The food was very good all week plenty of choice although as we were a group it was pre planned. All the staff were very friendly and helpful both in the bar and restaurant. Not sure how I'd feel if I had been here with my husband as with 2 groups staying you may feel a bit out numbered
We had up graded to a superior room to get a balcony but its the luck of the draw because others had not up graded and still got a balcony. We also got a fridge (which we hardly used) air con and a jaccuzi bath for our £200 probably not worth the extra. unless its the hieght of summer. It was actually quite cold some evenings at least we could warm the room up!

Room Tip: wouldn't spend £200 to upgrade for a week, stick to the regular rooms and request a balcony unle...

If you are thinking of walking to Positano, along The Path of the Gods, this hotel in Bomerano is the place to start from. A family run smallish hotel, but with features (swimming pool) and dining standards to compete with of those hotels of grander persuassions. The food, we had a set dinner, is nye on perfect. The large anti pasta was one of the best we have had and the tagliatella ala vongole equally very tasty. No doubt the sea bream on offer as a third course (two other choices) would have been as excellent, but by then I was stuffed. I did however manage the dessert.

Then to find that the hugely enjoyable breakfast croissants were also produced in their own kitchen capped the eating experience

The staff are very friendly and are happy to accommode a picnic for the walk ahead. It seemed to us to be a gem in the middle of nowhere!

A small family hotel.
Clean, warm and a good base for walking.
The hotel appears to specialise in accommodating walking groups so if you are travelling independently you may be slightly isolated.
The food is plentiful and freshly prepared but fairly basic.

It's hard to describe the feeling I had when I stayed here. It's not like being at a hotel, it's more like being part of a beautiful Italian family. I loved the people working there, I loved my room and I loved the little mountain town of Bomerano. Breakfast was outstanding, my favorite things were the fresh squeezed orange juice and the chocolate croissants. Dinner was also provided and every meal was fantastic. There is no question I would stay here again.

Room Tip: There is no elevator (lift) so request a ground floor room if stairs are a problem.

Location in Bomerano, Agerola is ideal for exploring the Amalfi coast, and the outstanding walks from Bomerano. The hotel is only 3-star, so don't expect luxurious rooms, but they are decent, and clean, has free wifi. Also has nice new pool.
The hotel staff are superb, very friendly and look after you very well. The food is excellent. We were staying half board (based in Bomerano for 1 week).
Breakfast is plentiful, excellent, breads, muesli, cereals, local ham/cheeses, fruits, eggs, pastries & genuinely freshly squeezed orange juice.
Dinner (on half board) also superb, 4 courses, each night a different Italian taste. The children are especially well looked after, and got to go into the kitchen to make Gnocchi, and Pizzas and Tiramisu - awesome fun, and also demonstrates a well kept kitchen and great chefs.
Totally recommend this place.
