We meet Stavros and his mother now already many years.
We stay always at Irene although I am not nice with him when settling the price ( in off-season) he still gives us all his possible service.I thanked him once by giving him my new shoes, they fitted him as they were too big for me,remember Stavros? Thanks again for your help!

Reading guidebooks that tell you there are nice, inexpensive inns in the middle of the island? Take my advice - stay in Naxos City, rent a car, and go visit those small villages. In fact, go see the whole island. Naxos is beautiful. But make Naxos City your home base.

Pension Irene is run by a very nice, helpful man, who is very flexible if you want to extend your stay, and will help you with things like renting a car. Rooms are about 30E a night but be prepared to pay cash. The rooms are simple but clean, the showers are small but you will find this to be the case at any hotel. Ask for a room with a small balcony so you can watch the sun rise. Beautiful garden, close to some nice cafes and restaurant, and obviously a quick walk to the kastro (it's a small town). Enjoy!

Excellent rooms and really helpful and friendly proprietor. Very clean, well looked after and maintained grounds. The owner picked us up from the port and even brought his own laptop in for us to use the internet, for free. Good location for beach, restaurants, and the old town.

We stayed for 7 days in July. The rooms were clean and tidy. It had aircon and a tv. There is free wireless internet and the icing on the cake was a hotel laptop which you could take to your room and use until the next person wanted it. Twice we had it for the whole night. Stavros the owner is really helpfull and you always see him bizzing around on his little scooter between his hotels and always has a wave for you. We asked for a double room but got 2 singles pushed together but we did say we wanted the as cheaper room as possible. Its only a 5 min walk from the "main strip" and all the shops. Given the chance i would defo stay here again.

We are a family: 2 adults and 3 children (13, 11 and 4 years) and we stayed at Irene 1 for 4 nights in July 2008.

We made the reservation by phone 2 days before our arrival and we were picked up at the harbor, where our ferry arrived.

The place is nice, clean, comfortable and quiet and the service is very good. The price is fine compared to what we have experienced elsewere similar places on the Greek islands.

The place is in an very comfortable distance from the busy part of town but still close to the beach, shops etc.

We surely can recommend this place.

On a quiet street away from the center of the city. It was a great value for the room size and amenities in the room. We were lost on the way here, called the hotel, and the gentlemen who runs the hotel came to meet us and walked us here. He also told us that if we wanted to use the pool at Irene II, we were welcome to. For the price, location, and friendly staff, I really don't think there is another place on the island of Naxos that comes close.

We stayed here for four nights in May. Room was the smallest in the building but big enough for us (we had access to the communal balcony area where there are two tables with good views). All very clean with good facilities (balcony, kitchenette and hairdryer). Enjoyed the Sunday service in the church next door - mellow and musical, a real treat. Owner easy to get hold of, picked us up at the ferry and good for information. Easy access to beach, town and supermarkets. Nice quiet location.
