“Lovely property, top-notch guest relations”
Reviewed September 20, 2012

We made a booking based on some of the earlier reviews here - a consitent theme about the high quality of the hosts' family was apparent. Sure enough, from the moment we got off the ferry, everything about our three days in Naxos was easy, relaxing and great. Kostas - who has the widest smile on the island - met us at the ferry terminal, drove us to the hotel, and settled us in with a wonderful introduction to sights, beaches, restaurants and other essential information. He's very easy going, has a warm and friendly demeanor, and made us feel right at home. Over the next three days, every interaction with Kostas and his family was consistent - warm, sincere, helpful.

The property is a little off the town center and beach, but honestly not by much. We walked to the waterfront promenade in Chora (the town area) in about ten minutes along a straight road that was well-lit in the evenings. The nearest beach (Saint George) takes between ten to fifteen minutes to walk to as well. There's a bus-stop just two minutes away, where you can take the bus to another beautiful beach (Aghios Prokopios).

Our room was renovated just last winter and looked amazing - clean, bright, tasteful, with modern bathroom facilities and a small balcony overlooking the neighbouring farm just in front of the property. There was air-conditioning, a hot shower, plenty of closet space, a comfortable bed, and plenty of lighting. It was kept very tidy. In addition, breakfast (love the cheese pies and homemade jam!) was provided, and so were beach towels!

Kostas' recommendations on food are spot on. He shared with us a list of places he and his family dine at; we visited four of them over three days, and they were all excellent.

Naxos is a very lovely destination with great beaches, good sights around the island, amazing scenary (espcially when you drive around the interior island), fresh and delicious food and pleasant weather. It is, in our opinion, far more interesting and fun than Santorini, which we were at just prior to Naxos. This is one of the most under-rated islands in Greece; if you do visit, we highly recommend Saint Vlassis!!

It was definitely a memorable experience, Kostas is an incredible person! He has a natural high sense of customer service and super professional. The property is beautiful with a great location just 8 minutes walking from one of the nicest beaches. The hotel has very nice decoration. Great rooms and loved the bathrooms! Also the breakfast was delicious with plenty of options and the most important, everything is very clean! In general it was the best choice, i would definitely go back and i if you go to the beautiful islan of Naxos, dont miss the oportunity to live such an amazing experience, highly recommended!! Kostas thank you for everything!!

We stayed just for one night but even Kostas was so kind with us. The room was big, nice and clean with a big terrace. We were suggested to do a lot our own planning given that we only had one day to visit Naxos and Kostas told us the most beautiful places and nice restaurants. It's not located at the city centre but it's worth to walk 'cause this hotel really offers to you a nice service (and good breakfast!)

We booked the Saint Vlassis hotel for two nights during our recent trip to the Greek islands, and were really looking forward to it having read all the great reviews here. However, on arriving at the port, we were picked up by Kostas, and after a short drive he told us in an offhand manner that we wouldn't in fact be staying with him as a guest had been taken to hospital and needed to stay an extra two nights so we were overbooked. This was disappointing and worrying initially but the manner in which he told us was very upsetting. It was all in the context of how stressful his day had been, with no apology or concern for how it might affect us.

In fairness to him, Kostas found us a nice family run hotel in Naxos town. While the room was definitely below the standard we would have expected from Saint Vlassis, the family were lovely and the breakfast was nice. However, we were offered no discount, and once he had given us a quick run through on Naxos Kostas left and essentially washed his hands of us, without checking in once over the next few days.

After taking stock of our situation we called Kostas to ask for a discount and express our disappointment. He offered us 40 euro off the price and then the long overdue apology. He assured us he would absorb the cost of the discount.

While we had sympathy with the situation Kostas was in, we did not appreciate the manner in which he dealt with us and the lack of apology. We were also quite annoyed that he didn't inform us of the situation when we called him to confirm our booking before leaving our previous island, a few hours before meeting him at the port.

I'm sure Saint Vlassis is as lovely as it sounds on here but unforunately we didn't get a chance to see it.

I am still on vacation - my 5th day- in st vlassis and I thought to write my review. I have been in many islands in Greece and I have stayed to 5 star hotels and to rooms to let. I can say that st vlassis is the best hotel I have ever stayed- value for money. The hotel is recently renovated, so everything is brand new. The most comfortable bed I have ever slept in a Greek island, perfect bathroom (I liked its'decoration), wooden floor, LCD tv, bathrobes, slippers, jacuzzi bathtub and the most important for me it is very clean. They clean up rooms every day, and change sheets every two days. Something else that I have noticed is that they use a special cover for the mattress and the pillows - they never do in islands. Regarding the owner of the hotel,Konstantinos, is very polite and helpful and always available in case you need something. Breakfast is very good and you can also have dinner that is cooked from Konstantino's mother. St vlassis doesn't have other facilities, like swimming pools or outdoor activities but we do not care as we never spend time in hotels, we like going around and visit new beaches every day. You will not like that hotel in case you are the type of an "all inclusive tourist " that spents all day in the swimming pools . I would recommend st vlassis for couples and for families with young children.

A must if staying on Naxos. Spent 4 days here and was really impressed. Konstantinos was an exceptional host and made you feel extremely welcome.....nothing was too much trouble. He even arranged a private taxi to give us a tour of the island rather than taking the tour bus. The rooms are large and modern & well serviced.Close to town & the beach. Fantastic buffet breakfast. Can not fault this hotel.
