“Small idelic truly an island restaurant.”
Reviewed March 10, 2014

this is a small family owned restaurant, the food is simple and quite delisious, the portions are larger than normal and always with that little extra, the owner is also well known for his raki, and his rakomelo (raki warm with honey) drinks, but be carefull both drinks are very sneaky, and pack a punch!
The owners are good simple people who love to feed you, always with a smile and a good joke.
I would recomend this to anyone who wants a good home made grill.

“Best food we had”
Reviewed October 22, 2013

Excellent pitas, better than other places by a long shot. The family running the restaurant was very friendly, especially the English-speaking son Manos.

Highly recommended

“Well, simply the best Gyros place!”
Reviewed September 25, 2013

You could argue: All Gyros Pitas taste similar.

I say: No way!

TO ARISTON keeps serving me the best gyros pita I have ever had! So I keep coming back each time I am on this amazing island.

The meat is good, the tomatoes are fresh, the pita bread slightly roasted with some garlic - and the potatoes are SO much more tasty than with ordinary gyros.

And now there is big news:
I strongly recommend Niko´s new invention "Skepasti" which is something like a "Gyros Cheese Burger" - I love it! (see here: http://toariston.wordpress.com/2013/09/25/skepasti-the-revolution-of-gyros-pita/)

And the list goes on: the rosé wine is amazing, the freshly squeezed lemonade is so refreshing, ...

And beyond all that: Human touch!
The family running the place really rocks: You see Nikos, the father who always has this amazing sweet smile on his face. Then there is his wife who is another sweet greek character you have to love. Last, not least there is Manolis, their 15 year old son, already the junior manager of the place. This guy is fascinating. He serves your favorite food with excellent english skills, lots of humor and lovely heart! He will easily get you into interesting discussions, be sure! :-)

So, do not miss that place!

And say hello from:
Benedikt

“A small piece of treasure to discover!”
Reviewed August 25, 2013

Definitely the best pita-gyros of Naxos. A small piece of culinary treasure that absolutely is a must-do stop on the island. A traditional Greek cuisine, with innovative touches of naxian culinary finishings that will have you taste buds imediatiely dancing the syrtaki inside your mouth! Friendly atmosphere, a homey feeling, especially thanks to young Manos, a self-taught polyglot of 3-4 languages, the best way to get acquainted with the island of Naxos. Unforgettable !

(the feta sauce is simply divine...)

“Authentic, tasty, friendly”
Reviewed May 19, 2013

This is a great place. A family-run grill providing delicious souvlaki and other dishes. Nice use of herbs. Nothing fancy, just real, tasty Greek food. Very good value.
