“A real GEM.....”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 8, 2012

The Nissaki Beach Hotel in Naxos is truly a beautiful facility. The rooms are probably some of the largest that you will find on any Greek island and add to that that the Nissaki is directly on the beach. We were there in mid-October so the island was very quite as far as tourists go, however the staff at the Nissaki were there to ensure that we had all that we required. We enjoyed our breakfasts directly on the beach and found them to be varied and well presented. The were also delicious!!!! The pool area is very clean with lots of chairs to stretch out on. The location of the Nissaki was also very good as we were able to stroll into town to enjoy the waterfront restaurants which are also very good. The staff also arranged for our vehicle rental and all we had to do was simply pick it up in the lobby, sign for it and then away we went. VERY convenient.
The Nissaki Beach Hotel was an excellent choice and we would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a sightly upscale facility. You will not be disappointed.

Room Tip: This is not a large hotel (26 rooms) so if an ocean view is what you want simply ask. The views are...

Naxos was our third stop on a two week four island hop. My husband and I stayed there October 7-9 for two nights. The hotel itself is very modern and pristine. Our room was spacious and comfortable. Upon our arrival, our room had some fruit and a bottleof local wine.. We were also impressed with the espresso machine in the room (although ultimately it was not the most practical way to make coffee in the room). When we were shown to our room Despina (who was a great resource for touring the island, beaches and restaurants) showed us the beach towels in the room meant for the beach or pool. This was the only hotel on the trip that provided beach towels specifically, without making us wonder if it's ok to take pool towels to the beach. We had an end unit terrace, that was not private but still very comfortable with modern chairs, and a fantastic sea view. Breakfast was included and it was very good, with different greek specialties, like zucchini pie, as well as basic eggs and sausage. The usual chef had been called away for a family emergency so we were not able to experience the Nissaki beachfront restaurant. The owners were present at the hotel and took great pride in their property. The woman in charge of the breakfast was very friendly as well. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

We thought that the waterfront location on Saint George Beach was very nice and scenic, and the hotel was convenient for walking into the town, however for swimming and spending a day at the beach, that beach would not be our first choice (my husband was actually more o.k. with it). We decided it would be worth it to stay at this hotel, but to rent a car and take the short drive to Agia Anna beach and the beaches South of there, such as Plaka and Kastraki. As a matter of fact we are thinking of doing exactly that in May 2013. With respect to this second week in October, we found the weather to be absolutely perfect.

Despina gave us some good sightseeing and restaurant tips (one restaurant, Meze 2 - on the water- didn't have good service, had horrid rose wine, but had great food) and the other restaurant, Meltemi had wonderful food and wonderful friendly service. The owner son, told us that his father, the owner - was a professional chef and had been a chef for Aristotle Onassis for a few years. Despina urged us to rent a car to see some of the island, and it turned out that was a good idea, as we got to some old interesting villages, and also saw a very nice stretch of beach. Renting a car is also easy. The hotel makes a call and the car is there in about 5 minutes and you can be on your way in 15.
The Europeans have it right with the double bed consisting of two matresses put together on a single base. It makes for better sleeping in a hotel bed.

Everything about this hotel was absolutely wonderful. The family that runs the hotel are very nice and their friendly and warm atmosphere makes you feel very welcome and at ease. The hotel is very tastefully decorated. The pool area is very nice, so is the outside breakfast area. The rooms are beautiful! Very elegant and yet a modern style of decoration, beautiful wood on the floor and paintings on the walls and small decorations on all tables. It certainly does not feel like a cold and impersonal hotel room. It was also very nice to be able to make a nice expresso in the room.

The breakfast was absolutely amazing! The best breakfast buffet we have ever seen and tasted. They make you a glas of fresh orange juice as soon as you enter the breakfast room. There is a great variety of everything at the breakfast and different from day to day. Very tasty warm cheese and vegetables pies, different selection of egg dishes, very good selection of cheeses and the sweet section was also very nice and tasty. They buffet was set up very tastefully with elegant trays and cutleries and of course the beautifully decorated courses/dishes.

The location of the hotel is excellent. Right by the beach, you could almost feel the waves at your toes while eating your breakfast outside. The center of Naxos town is only in 5-10 minutes walking distance.

This hotel is definitely worth all the four stars and even more.

We organised a large group of people to stay at the Nissaki Beach Hotel and the overflow staying in surrounding hotels for a four day party. My family were there for a week to prepare for it so we had plenty of time to get the feel of the hotel and can only say our whole experience there was wonderful. From all the staff ,to the fabulous large rooms ,best position on the beach, great food and bar..it was perfect. Our other guests were very sad they could not all fit in as they were all very jealous of our wonderful hotel and friendly staff.....I can highly recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: All the beach front rooms are roomy and have great views.....while the back room facing the pool are...

I would highly recommend the Nissaki Beach Hotel. The room was very comfortable and well appointed with a great terrace overlooking the water. The breakfast was truly delicious with a wonderful assortment of different items each morning. We also had dinner on the beach at the hotel's restaurant and it was perfect. But the best part of the entire experience was the hotel staff - we have never felt so at home at a hotel! From strolling into the village each evening for dinner, drinks and shopping, to touring the island by rental car, being in Naxos and especially staying at the Nissaki is an experience we will recommend to friends and family.

Stayed at Nissaki Beach Hotel in mid-August for 4 nights. Room (a superior suite) was nicely set out, with a good bathroom/ shower and lovely views out to the sea from the room's terrace. Hotel staff (especially Despina on reception and the waiting staff) were polite, friendly and courteous throughout.

Hotel is modern and of good design, very clean and with a good pool to cool off temporaily from the scorching Greek heat! It is located in an excellent spot, a 5 minute walk into the bustling and vibrant main town but far enough away not to be noisy in the evenings. The bar area is nice and open and the perfect place to have a nightcap before bed.

Breakfast is fresh and varied enough but the real plus is the excellent hotel restaurant - with tables on the beach itself. You will struggle to find as good a place to dine, out of the 15-20 or so restaurants on the waterfront in the main town. Our preferred arrangement was to walk into town for pre-dinner drinks before walking back to the hotel for supper - the lobster pasta (at €25) is truly excellent and the relaxed atmosphere really lets you know you are on holiday.

We combined this stay with 5 nights in Santorini and my wife actually preferred Naxos. Certainly it is a lovely place to visit and I would definitely recommend both the Island and Hotel Nissaki Beach. It is not the cheapest option but you get what you pay for and the overall quality of the hotel ensures an enjoyable stay - why if you are on holiday take the risk of sub-par accomodation after all.

Wow! We spent 9 days here and just loved it! Everyone is so hospitable - Despina, on reception, is so accommodating and helpful - I felt I was leaving a sister behind. And the rest of the Nissaki family, the owners and their son, who couldn't do enough for us! They even rang up some acquaintances of theirs to help me with an enquiry of mine. Our room overlooked the beach and the restaurant - a lovely outlook and the room was very comfortable and clean. It was magic to sit out on the balcony overlooking this scene in the evening. You must eat at their restaurant - all the food we ate was delicious and reasonably priced! And you can either sit at a table right on the sand or just back from it and watch the waves - we had several meals there and all our breakfasts, which were yum! The pool is not huge but just right for the amount of people who use it. The days can get hot, so make use of the umbrellas and you can get drinks brought to the pool. And we met some really lovely people here from all over the world - Nissaki seems to attract them. The hotel is a 5-7 minute walk into the port and the great tavernas and bars, etc - families, couples, residents walking around or having a meal - loved the people-watching and the variety of food. This is a place to just relax and the Nissaki Beach makes it so easy to do. I am already checking my diary for 2013 and will book soon as there are a limited amount of rooms and we don't want to miss out! Thank you, Nissaki Beach, for making our holiday so special!
