I cannot imagine better service. We were locked in a nearby church parking lot. I approached Ms Kitini (Apollon owner) for help. She invited my wife and me to sit in the reception room for juice or beer while she made inquiries. This gave us an opportunity to observe Ms. Kitini's warm hospitality to guests and Apollon's facilities. Thirty minutes and several phone calls later she had made arrangements for someone to open the parking lot gate. And we were not guests at the hotel! Imagine the friendly service you will get if you are a hotel guest. Thank you Ms. Kitini.

We arrived looking for a room, having tried three other places that were fully booked. Despina had just one room, quite small but said we could move to another after a couple of days if we preferred. The first room, though small, was perfectly adequate and at 50 Euros a night very reasonable. We did move for our last three days as the bigger room (60Euros) was much more spacious with two balconies so we could move with the sun. Excellent location, with sea views and quiet although near quite a busy road. Despina was amazing - so helpful and friendly and clearly an experienced and expert hotelier. Her daughter who worked there too was also charming. Place to park and easy to exit to explore the rest of the island by car. All Despina's restaurant recommendations were spot on! Definitely to be recommended.

Room tip: Ask for the room with two balconies

My wife and I could not recommend the Apollon, its owner manager Despina Kitini and her staff more. In a central location, and everyone thoughtful and thoroughly helpful with the best of manners. A good room with air conditioning and a balcony with view of the Kastro, albeit a rather small shower. Delicious breakfasts outside

Despina took time to give us the best advice as to where the locals eat and swim, and where to visit with a car away from crowds. They also all took special care of elderly relatives whom we had to stay for two nights.

We shall unhesitatingly return.

Stayed just the one night whilst travelling between neighbouring islands. This hotel is like something from an earlier period. Art Deco - full of memorabilia of a time gone by. You could imagine an Agatha Christie novel based here. The hotel is spotlessly clean , the rooms are in keeping with the property, and the owner and all her team were kind, welcoming, and attentive.
I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.

The scenery around the port is spectacular. Take a break, sit on the sea front and soak up the atmosphere - simply stunning. The views from Apollos Temples entrance - Portara is divine. Take a swim in the calm water below the Portara.
