This is a charming hotel in picturesque bacharach germany. The rooms are clean, cozy, and have an old world feel with modern plumbing. Several rooms have rhine views and the hotel is less than 5 minutes walk from the shore. Even the food is good.

We loved our stay at Hotel Kranenturm. Fatima treated us like family and took really good care of us. We arrived early in the morning after an all night airplane ride from the US, and she fed us breakfast and made sure our room was ready early. We stayed in a tower room. We also got a tour of several of the other rooms from Fatima. All the rooms were so charming. Fatima strives to keep a really clean and comfortable hotel and even covers the chairs with fabric that matches the room so that she can wash them. The food was the best that we had on our two week trip of Germany and Paris. I loved the restaurant's outside patio. Of the 4 hotels we stayed in on this trip, this was our favorite.

The building is very old as it was a tower on the old city walls. I thought it was exciting to stay in such an old building that had been renovated so well. Since it is an old building, there are stairs to the rooms so, if you have trouble with stairs, ask Fatima when you book so she helps you pick the right room.

Yes, the train runs right by the hotel but the trains are fairly quiet-not like the trains here in the U.S. We slept with all three windows open and the train wasn't any louder than the hotel air conditioners built into the wall of any of the US hotels and did not keep us awake at all.

I would definitely stay here again. In fact, if I were going anywhere in Europe, I would make it a point to go back to this hotel and visit Fatima! Hope to see you soon, Fatima!

We stayed here with our two girls who are 6 and 8. It was a lovely little hotel and the owners were super sweet to the girls. We loved the town of Bacharach so much we actually added a day. Excellent Rhineland location with easy boat trips. Would also recommend one night in Heidelberg as it was a bit far to drive from Bacharach.

We arrived to this wonderful Bed & Breakfast, built in an old castle tower in Bacharach, Germany early June, on our honeymoon. We showed up very late due to some issues with car rental, and the owner, Fatima, was absolutely gracious despite this. The attention to detail in the rooms, and helpful advice, the welcoming atmosphere, and the most excellent food definitely put this location as our favorite spot to stay on our honeymoon trip! Second to none folks!

Fatimah, the very friendly host, is certainly one who did not believe in paperwork. Just introduce yourself and you are shown to your room. No form filling, no need to show passport, etc.

The whole place is so old and charming, just like the medieval town it is in. The rooms were very clean and equipped with modern fixtures. We have the view of the Rhine & park on one side and the castle on the other. Although the train track is just outside, we were not bothered by the noise as we kept the window facing the track closed.

Good food, cosy relaxed ambience and friendly waiter (Dominic was on duty that evening) summed up our most memorable experience at the restaurant.

The breakfast spread is generous and Fatimah went the extra mile to make us fried eggs.

The people in the town are generally friendly, especially the lady at the shop selling German souvenirs (Steiff bears, toy furniture and small wooden figurines....)

We enjoyed this hotel and town very much. The owner's wife (I can't remember her name) was very personable and interesting! She came up to our rooms with us and gave us bottles of wine. When we told her that we didn't drink alcohol, she went and got a bottle of lingenberry juice...YUM! She sat on the bed and chatted with us for a few minutes, and again when we were eating dinner downstairs, which was very good! (I suggest the sauerbratten, SO GOOD... the sweineschnitzle was dry though) The location was great for walking the city, but right on the train tracks. They gave us ear plugs, but the double pains in the windows were great, we didn't hear a thing. You did have to climb quite a few windy stairs, but all the best places we stayed in Germany all had them! The decor was...interesting, but nice. Also, as in almost all of these quaint little places in Europe, the shower was tiny and our appliances wouldn't work, even with our adapters/converters. All in all, a good place at a good price. I would stay there again.

Room Tip: if you don't mind stairs, get the top floor.
