Stopped in while waiting our a rainstorm during a visit to Bacharach in Oct. 2012. Enjoyed the wine flight and a light lunch. Great traditional german food. Great atmosphere.

the food was nothing special, but perhaps that was not really necessary in this great ambiance; glass of the local wine, and life is as good as it gets.

After a long hiking day around the hills of Bacharach, we really enjoyed our dinner at this restaurant. We ate outside and shared our table with other freindly people. The atmosphere was relaxed and the wine was excellent. In the wine list there is a great choice of white wines (and one ore 2 red wines) and we tasted 4 of them.
We appreciated in particoular the half-dry riesling and antoher fruity sweet wine. In the meal list you have also a good choice, but above all there are cold dishes (cheese, bread, tomatoes, German ham,) and a few warm dishes (soup, omlette). But the quality of the wine and the friendness of the waiters was worth the stay!

We’d just gotten done hiking through the vineyards above the village on Easter morning. We walked into town and were surprised to see many restaurants open and patrons enjoying the unusually beautiful weather on outdoor patios. This restaurant boasted a 15-glass wine-tasting carousel- we decided this was the perfect spot for our Easter festivities. In addition to the wine, we enjoyed frankfurters and potato salad. Our server was so fun- she seemed enthused about our celebratory attitude. She talked with us about our trip, about some of her favorite places- she really was delightful. We kept track of our favorite wines and chose a well-priced bottle to purchase and enjoy later that evening. We enjoyed our experience!

The four of us enjoyed their shared, tasting "carousel" of 15 different regional wines. We accompanied this with a delicious assortment of home made soups, meats, cheeses and their fresh bread and butter. Seated outside in a cobbled courtyard, surrounded by half timbered building on a misty evening just made the whole experience even more memorable.
