“Personal service”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 26, 2012

We sat outside in the terraced area and were warmly welcomed in by Astrid, the owner. The 3 course dinner was wonderful ending with great homemade apple strudel made by the owner herself. We enjoyed chatting with Astrid about the town history, sights, and the different tips of how to explore the area in the most enjoyable way.

“Nice surroundings, average food”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 19, 2012

Visited Bacharach in July 2012 and tried various eating establishments. Sat outside for a while before anyone turned up to provide us with menus. Think it was the owner who was very friendly which cannot be said for the surly young waitress who hardly spoke and never smiled. Food was average although my trout was delicious and of a good size. For dessert we adjourned to the ice cream parlour next door which served delicious Riesling icecream (more of a sorbet and highly recommended).

“Good service, not the best food”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 5, 2012

The lady who owns the restaurant is friendly and helpful, she answered our questions and was attentive. The homemade soup was rather good, but the main courses were not. I ordered the roast pork with potato dumplings, which was bland. We also ordered the sausage casserole (an assortment of sausages with sauerkraut), which was just okay, nothing special. The apple strudel did look delicious but we didn't try any. Ultimately the food is decent, but not the best. I would not come back.

“Great food, warm service and very reasonable price”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 23, 2012

We ate dinner here in our last night in Bacharach, and wished we had another night to repeat the experience! Eating at Rusticana is like eating in someone's traditional German home, and the food is like a good home made meal. We were lucky to have apple strudel on the menu - it was definitely worth finding room for!

“Like having dinner at your German grandmas...”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 16, 2012

The lady who owns this quaint restaurant is so warm and friendly. The homemade chick pea soup was amazing! The special with white asparagus, ham and holladaise sauce was wonderful. Don't forget to have some apple strudel with vanilla cream sauce for dessert!
