Hotel zur Post was soooo wonderful! The owner was amazing. She was so kind. Spoke excellent English and was very helpful. The room was very neat and clean. We highly recommend staying here if you are in Bacharach.
We visited Holland, Brugges, Arras, Paris, Kaub and Bacharach. Bacharach was hands down our favorite place. The town was so friendly. Castles were in our backyard. Vineyards were everywhere. We enjoyed it so much. Although it is small, we wished we could have stayed longer (we stayed 2 nights, but got in about 8 the first night). We had a car so it was easy to drive to other parts of Germany. I cannot say enough about Bacharach, Hotel zur Post and the owner! LOVE IT!!!

Room Tip: We were on the second floor and it was great.

We had a room for four for two nights, and it had plenty of room for all of us. The price of the room was very reasonable for what we got. The staff was very very nice to us. We could hear some of the trains, but it wasn't bad at all. Breakfast was very good, and she was very nice in providing hot chocolate for the kids.

Not sure that Bacharach is worth staying two nights though. One day more than covers what there is to do in Bacharach and visiting the castles in the area via the ferry.

We were greeted very warmly by the owner who has a lovely personality. She was very friendly, spoke English well and was accommodating on our last day when we had to leave quite early to catch the train to our next destination by serving us breakfast a bit early. Our room as spacious, with 2 small side tables by the bed and a small table with chairs in the room as well. The windows opened to let the cooler air in. Train noise was minimal which is important in Bacharach because there are ALWAYS trains going through town. Breakfast was standard German fare, but a nice selection of meats and rolls, hard boiled eggs, cheeses, yogurt. The bread/rolls were especially good. Lots of narrow stairs to climb to get to your room - no elevator. The owner insisted on taking one of our 2 suitcases up the stairs so my husband wouldn't have to carry both of them.

We only stayed here one night. We checked in early. They kept our luggage and even placed it in our room for us. We were very pleased with this hotel and the courtesy of the staff. This was a quiet place away from the railroad.

Room Tip: We were on the second floor and there was no elevator, but we managed well. The room was very nice.

Stayed two nights at Hotel zur Post. Had one of the third floor rooms with balcony/small porch overlooking the main street. Steps up to third floor are steep. When we expressed concern about being able to get our suitcase up the stairs, it was carried up to our room for us. Room and bath were clean and the breakfast filling. Although the rooms on either side of ours had guests, we did not hear them. Views from the balcony were beautiful. Hotel zur Post is very reasonably priced - and an excellent value for lodging in the Rhine Valley area. The KD boat dock is very convenient.

Room Tip: Third floor rooms have small balcony/porch with excellent views of the village, castle, and countrys...

Bacharach is a great town and this hotel is right on the main drag. The room was of a decent size and the bathroom was very good. The decor was without charm. The breakfast is nice, but not great. Our bed linens were damp so we rung the owner. She came and changed everything to new dry linens, but having sat damp all day, the comforter, the pillow and the mattress were all damp as well. I pointed out that the comforter was damp and was told that it was just cold. It wasn't, we put up with the dampness through the night. I'm sure that the whole damp linen thing was not a normal occurrance, so I would say that this is a decent hotel, however, there are friendlier, more charming hotels in town.

We stayed 3 nights the end of April and was very happy with the location, super clean rooms, breakfast, and affordability. Ute welcomed us kindly and helped us with our train travels, which we truly appreciated. The town is quaint and easily accesible without being too close to the train tracks. We really loved this town and look forward to returning there someday.
