“Fun night out with the girls”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 18, 2010

We love this restaurant and frequently go there for a quick lunch, a night out with friends, or for special celebrations.
The service is consistently attentive and some of the staff actually recognize us and remember our "usual order." They are willing to substitute or make changes to dishes to accommodate our toddler.
Fresh sushi and the best Thai food in this area.
Decor is modern yet very inviting.
Full bar with a decent selection of beer and wine available.

“Great food!”

We've eaten at Thaijindesu several times and have never had a bad meal or service. The chicken cashew is excellent!! Always a great, fresh meal with friendly service. Love it!

“One of Newport News's Finest!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 27, 2008

An absolutely wonderful restaurant, from the decor to the service to the food. The menu is diverse, with Thai, Japanese and Sushi. Ken, the owner is always at the front of the restaurant to greet his guest and make you feel welcome.

As all meals are prepared fresh, it gives you the option to exlude a vegetable or something from the mix, and to indicate the degree of temperature you think you can handle! The only possible challenge is that meals then do take a bit of time to come to the table after you place your order, so if you are looking for fast food or TGIFridays type experience you will be frustrated. But, if you have a little bit of time, trust me it is well worth it. I am now a regular, going to the restaurant or getting take out at least once a week. Give it a try!

“Nice”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 22, 2008

My best friend & I LOVE Thai food & decided to give this place a try on our girls'-night-out. It is a bit of a small, crowded space, but nice. The Sushi bar is a nice touch. We ate at one of the outside tables- very nice, but also a small area. They might want to consider an awning over the outside seating area, as well, to help shield the sun, etc. They had much of the same Thai menu & prices as our favorite Thai place in Yorktown, & we were thrilled to find that they serve a favorite chocolate mousse & cherry dessert that the other place no longer serves. Everything was delicious. They also serve lovely drinks. And, despite that they seemed to be understaffed for the restaurant that evening, the staff was still pleasant. In comparison with our usual favorite Thai place, I love the ambiance of our other place, but like the touch of the Sushi Bar & Japanese menu, & also the option to sit outside at this place.

“Thaijindesu - Nice Place”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 16, 2008

I've always been too nervous to try Thai food, but this restaurant was in a great neighborhood and looked very chic so my husband and I decided to give it a try. The restaurant is small, but it is nicely decorated and very modern. The food was very good. I had the shrimp pad thai and it was excellent. My husband had the red curry chicken. It was okay, but tasted a little bland. Before our entrees we had the dumplings and they were very tasty. This place is definitely worth a try.
