Let me tell you, it is not easy to find a hotel that is reasonably priced, allows dogs, and doesn't have a plethora of negative reviews on here. We just needed a place to stay for one night on the way to a family event in VA Beach on a Saturday. After much searching, we reserved a room here. Elva at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. We nearly had a disaster upon arrival as I had called to check the pet policy and been told to indicate in my online reservation that we'd have a dog with us, which I did. Somehow this got missed and we weren't assigned a room that allows pets. Thankfully a "pet room" was available for us, so disaster was averted. So if you plan to stay here with a pet, call and make sure they are aware of this instead of relying on the internet reservations. It was a $50 non-refundable fee for our pet. Anyway, this hotel seems to have two types of buildings - two with indoor hallways and two with doors that open to the outside. We were in one with an exterior door. My only complaint is that it didn't seem to block noise well at all. A group arrived at 4am (they weren't being terribly loud) and I woke up startled as it sounded as if they were right in our room! Perhaps the rooms in the interior hallway buildings are quieter. About the room: it was clean and sufficient, with my only complaints being that the bathroom was tiny (not a huge deal) and the bed was squeaky. Every time I turned over it squeaked loudly. The complimentary breakfast was standard - some hot items, cereals, juice, donuts and breads, etc. Very nice staff replenishing the items and cleaning up as we were there. We didn't make use, but the hotel has a "theater" room and game room with a pool table (I think, I just peeked in quickly) which would have been fun if we were there longer. Bottom line: would definitely stay again if passing through the area. Note for other travelers: this hotel is not in an area that has much in the way of shopping or dining - if you were looking for that, you'd have to drive at least a few miles away - there just seems to be a little local restaurant (maybe bar?) nearby - and a Holiday Inn right next door.
