“First Time”

I visited the VLM 11/10/2012 and was very pleased with the child hands-on, accessibility and layout. The Outdoor museum was fantastic and made more so with the seasonal changing of the trees which made for some gorgeous Postcard pictures! My only disappointment was the 'underwater table' where because of the lack of a 'Shoreline'' the Horseshoe Crabs are forced to mate underwater.

“Hope they make it!”

The museum has had flood damage here recently and needs our support to help keep them running. The museum is a wonderful place to visit no matter the temperature outside. Half is outside and half is inside so perfect combination.

“Educational Fun”
Reviewed November 5, 2012

There was, we thought, very little to do in Norfolk on a very wet and windy day so we headed out to the Living Museum. It was listed as a local attraction in the hotel brochure and It was fabulous. What a perfect family outing and despite recent heavy rain which left the basement inaccessible, they offered plenty of great attractions including the sustainable house, planetarium, real live animals and a great aquarium and "touch tank". Being from Sydney we were thrilled to see local wildlife which we would ever have had a chance to see elsewhere.

The staff were young and vibrant and very helpful and the day was unexpectedly great!
The only downside was the cafeteria was closed when we were ready to have a snack.

“Wonderful for the Entire Family”
Reviewed November 1, 2012

Love this place! There's so much to do for every age. There's an outside walkway which is quite long (and is muggy in the summer!), but there's a large variety of animals to see on the trail. The inside is full of various displays and exhibits, with lots of small animals. Our family has a membership, and we probably visit the museum 1-2 times every month. Each visit is unique, based on the current exhibits and the animals we see.
