Attended the Wine tasting there in June what an excellent day, free tours of the mansion and lots of fun!

Greatly enjoyed my trip to Lee Hall Mansion, and learned a lot about the Peninsular campaign during my time there. Purchased tickets then wandered about the small ground-level museum which was mostly geared towards educating visitors about the Peninsular campaign during the Civil War. The museum is a little disjointed and not a high-end job, but very interesting for the 15 minutes I spent there. Went upstairs to see the house and was amazed at the history and number of prominent historical figures who had been in the home. Unfortunately, you only get to see the first floor, so the tour is not long. The main value is not in the home's beauty, but its history. I particularly enjoyed the fact that there is still a lot of land/space around the home, giving visitors a taste of what it was really like to live there when the home was completely rural. Also enjoyed the earthworks/redoubt that still exists on the property.
