My wife and extended family stayed at the Day's Inn for the weekend of September 21-23. We were down in Newport News for a wedding.

My wife and I are in our mid 20's and we are not fussy travelers by any means. Despite are "easy-goingness" I must say that this hotel is in very poor physical condition. Everything is in disrepair. Our tub continually backed up, there were missing tiles, the rooms were dirty, our window was cracked, the comforter was gross, and so on. To visualize the category of this hotel, think truck stop hotel.

As for the service, it was OK. The staff was kind, but they weren't going to go out of their way to please their guests. Also, I don't know how they stay in business. It seemed like there was no one else there. There were almost no cars in the parking lot.

I will mention one thing that did happen to my father-in-law on the first night we were there. When walking to his room, he was solicited by a "lady of the night." There was also a Lincoln Navigator that kept doing laps around the parking lot all evening. I guess when it get darks in that part of town all kinds of characters come out in that area.

If you have any kind of standards for traveling, I would suggest that you look to book elsewhere, unless you really have a high tolerance for this kind of establishment. Contact me if you have any questions.

I checked in tonight and the hotel is TERRIBLE the staff spends all their time swearing in your presence and talking to each other. Do I really have to hear that you "hate your ****ing job"? I am looking at squished bugs on the walls of my room, there were clothes still hanging in the entryway, my keycard reads caution, I am afraid to get into bed because the sheets are wrinkled enough to make me think they are used-- do I need to continue? I am leaving this record as I search for another hotel to spend tomorrow night because I am taking a cab out of here as soon as possible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND DO NOT STAY HERE.
