Just returned from staying in Chalet Phoenix with 10 other friends. We had a fantastic time from the moment we arrived. Our chalet hosts were wonderful, nothing was too much trouble. As well as cooking delicious food they were able to offer advice on local amenities, where to eat out, snow conditions etc. We all ate exceptionally well - even with the skiing I'm sure we'll all have put on some weight!
The chalet itself is in the centre of the village a short walk from the bus stop, and slightly further to the gondola lift (you can pay to leave skis/boots in Meribel and if you intend to use the gondola this is probably sensible). The bathrooms are all new and have been done to a high spec. It is quite a steep climb up the stairs to the uppermost bedrooms, and being in the attic we did have to contend with a sloping roof (hit our heads a few times). However, to get something at this price in the Three Valleys is amazing, and to have such lovely food and service more than makes up for it. We would all happily return, and if we have more people will opt for another of Ski Blanc's chalets in Les Allues.
- Official Description (provided by the hotel):
- Conveniently located in the centre of Les Allues, Chalet Phoenix provides cosy and surprisingly spacious chalet accommodation in the Three Valleys. There's a fantastic fireplace in the sitting room and you'd be forgiven for finding yourself sitting there with a glass of wine after the chairlifts have stopped running. Other stand-out features in Chalet Phoenix include the brand-new, modern kitchen and recently-refurbished uber-chic bathrooms! The kitchen and large living / dining room are located on the ground floor with seating for ten at the table. The same number can be seated on the couches in front of the large wood-burning stove.
