Food is excellent with a good selection on the menu. Service and presentation very good. A good cellar but the better wines are quite pricey. A great place for a special occasion, however the prices are pitched at the higher end of the market for this area and for that reason 4 rather than 5 stars.

We ate there one night, a good atmosphere with plenty of customers and chose from the standard menu. This was a mistake we had a 'bonne bouche' of parsnip soup followed by a butternut soup - souped out we had pintade - guinea fowl - a flavourless main course. We went back the following night as there did not seem anywhere else to eat nearby and chose a main course of lamb chops with mashed purple potato - a dish to die for - followed by a superb desert

As everyone else has said, this place is a treat. It is a bit on the expensive side but the quality of the food, the presentation, the service, the setting and everything else that combine to make L'Arome an excellent restaurant experience make the cost worth it.
The service particularly impressed me. When I booked, I was asked if I wanted to sit inside or on the terrace. I gave my preferrence for a table on the terrace and was told that they would reserve one for us unless it was too cold (as the weather had been mixed) in which case they would move us inside. I really like this attention to the customer experience (very unlike a restaurant in Cassis that we visited later in the same week where we sat outside through a storm and were left by the staff to get wet!) Luckily we did get to sit on the terrace at L'Arome and had a lovely evening. if you are in Bonnieux and want a really good meal that makes the most of local flavours and ingredients then you can't go wrong with L'Arome.

So enjoyed our three course meal. Chef sent out mini butternut squash soups-yum! The scallops and fish were fabulous as well as the chocolate dessert. We sat on the terrace and enjoyed a lovely evening. Highly recommend!

This is one of the best meals I've ever had!
A Provençal gastronomique experience. 40€ pp set menu:
o Aperitif of the local grappa? And orange liqueur.
o 50cl of local white wine-and I notice with interest the 5€ bottle of wine I've seem in the supermarket the day before sold for 25€!
o digestif: Parsnip soup with lardons
o Starter: A: truly amazing smorgasbord of 10 local delicacies - tapenade, chickpea and anchovies purée, stuffed tomatoes, gazpacho , little loaf; K has asparagus risotto
o Mains: A: Monkfish and sausicon and finely mashed potatoes, K: lamb and Provençal ratatouille
o 3 cheese: Goats cheese, Thom, ?
o Delicious pudding of chocolate fondant

Service was very good too. We're asked if we would like menus in English or French. "Anglais pour elle, et François pour moi?" "François ou Francais?" and laughs; and for the rest of the meal the waitress calls me Francois! Well worth the price of €40pp+wine
