Lovely small harbour to walk around with plenty of restaurants and shops to enjoy the day. Gets very busy in the summer

Last year we were here in August and the crowds were so huge that you couldn’t really appreciate the place. In September, this is still a busy venue, but there is enough space to stroll around the port area without being constantly jostled. Great selection of restaurants, attractive buildings and some attractive shops in the streets behind the harbour. A lovely port destination, though very much geared for tourism.

The port is great, plenty of people around, lots of good restaurants from popular to fine dining and pleasant enough to be good to sit with a coffee and watch the world go by.

I love this place You will see beautiful buildings constructed from the pale stone of the Charente region and if you remember to look up, you will be rewarded further.
An elegant place which feels completely at ease with itself. A people watchers paradise! Relaxed sophistication. Understated yet always fascinating St Martin boasts a rich history and the museum is very impressive. Good shopping and good living!
