We really enjoyed our stay here! The communication from the owner of the apartment was really helpful - she sent me two maps to show me exactly where the apartment was located a few weeks before the trip. She spoke English, so that was great (as I don't speak French...). We organised that a friend of hers would let us in to the apartment; we gave her a text when we were travelling on the bus to the Ile de Re and she met us outside to show us around (she was a lovely lady, although she speaks only a little English). The apartment is five minutes walk to the marina in St Martin de Re, which is just perfect. It was a great to be so close to everything. The apartment itself is right beside the cathedral, which means that sometimes the bell rings in the morning time - thankfully the shutters and windows keep out the noise mostly :) It's a studio apartment that has a stud wall separating the area with the bed from the sitting area with a sofa bed. There's a great dining table and a well-stocked kitchen, in case you want to cook your own meals. It was a great base for travelling around the island. The only thing that wasn't provided in the apartment was towels, but thankfully I always travel with some in my suitcase. There is a 200 Euro deposit that is requested as part of the booking, but this was refunded with no problem - we gave the apartment a quick clean before we left. The apartment is decorated in a fun, quirky way and is a great choice for a stay in the area!
