A real home with all the niceties that go with that. Spacious family house with a nice garden for bbqs and eating out.
Exceptionally clean, plenty of crockery, cutlery and equipment in the kitchen/dining room. Cool inside when the temperatures outside soared.
Superb location - quiet but within easy walking distance of the market, town and beaches.
Only downside: linen and cleaning costs are additional and expensive.
This house is much more a home than just a summer rental house with country furniture and delightful pictures featuring places and life on the island. There is a small garden, ideal for young children (a few toys are available).
The location is quiet but just a five minute walk to the excellent market (daily), supermarket, boulangerie and shops. And just 10 minutes to the sandy beach which is the longest on the island.
There is plenty of crockery, cutlery, glassware, pots and pans etc.
It is worth noting that all linen is charged for and rather expensive but we brought our own, having read previous reviews of the property. The full cost of cleaning could be regarded as expensive too but we were aware of this. However, the house was very clean and ensuring those standards for the next occupants would have been difficult and time-consuming. The cost of the property was reasonable compared to others so perhaps one can't really complain! Plenty of cleaning products were available if you wanted to do the cleaning yourself. Toilet rolls, tissues etc. were freely available which isn't often the case for rental properties.
Amandine from the agency was punctual and efficient and answered any questions quickly.
All in all this is a really homely, comfortable place to stay in and can be thoroughly recommended.
Undoubtedly a charming house in which to stay on the island but who likes a surprise bill at the end of a lovely holiday? We were billed E303 on departure. I still can't find any mention on the website of either the cleaning bill (E150) or the cost of hiring linen (E128.5 - and you will make up the beds yourself). We actually had cleaned the house on departure. And I didn't receive a linen price list beforehand so watch out! We were then given no benefit of doubt over a slightly damaged towel - of which none of us remember seeing. Another E19! And finally a miscellaneous E4.5 which was never explained. Sophie, the owner, after some persuasion (and a few days later) did meet us half way with the cleaning bill but I would implore her to be upfront with the extra hidden costs and add them to the website. Or better still, include these costs within the quoted price. Nobody should end their holiday feeling ripped off.
The house was wonderful, just perfect. Much bigger than it looks on the photos. Sadly the hidden "extra" prices are quite high. We've rented many houses and apartments all over the world and were shocked at the extra costs for bedding, towels etc that are not given upfront.
We enjoyed our stay the house is perfect, comfortable inside if the weather is bad and good spacious seating outside and pleasant garden for good weather. Close to the centre of Le Bois with an excellent market each day and only a few minutes cycle from the beautiful beach.

The house is lovely and much larger than appears from the photos. It is very clean with comfortable beds and the kitchen is well-equipped. The location is also very good - apart from being in a pretty street, it is just a few minutes' walk from the market, shops, bicycle hire and bus stop. There is a very nice garden with a bbq. The only thing we would warn British holiday makers about is the fact that bed linen and towels are not included in the price and you have to pay extra for them. We had a wonderful stay there and recommend it.
