“charming secluded cottage”
Reviewed August 9, 2018 for a stay in July 2018

the cottage is secluded but still in the heart of the village with a two minute walk to the boulangerie, Offers front and rear sunbathing and well kept so perfect for relxaing. Room enough to park a car so no problems with the car on the ilse- although biking is a definite must to see the island. Wonderful stay hot and sunny and totally relaxing holiday,

Owners very helpful thanks for the stay!

“Fabulous comfortable holiday home”
Reviewed July 9, 2018 for a stay in June 2018

This is a lovely quality tastefully furnished holiday home a 2-3 minutes walk from the main village centre. Perfect for couples who want to relax, and spend lots of time doing very little! The cottage is well placed for exploring the island by either bike or car. There is secure off road parking for a car and bicycles. There are 3 places to eat off the village square, and the village has a range of shops and a daily market to cater for day to day needs. There is a supermarket a 5 minute bike ride away. The main beach is a 5 minute walk. We travelled with our dog, and went to the quieter end of the beach first thing in the morning and after 7pm without any problem. Even though it was over 30 degrees every day during our stay, the cottage was easy to keep relatively cool. There are private sunbathing areas at the back and front of the cottage. The owner and her agent were available throughout the stay if required. We had a great time and did not want to come home.

“Fantastic holiday, location, place et al. (with a personal very emotional memory)”
Reviewed December 22, 2017 for a stay in May 2017

Ile-de-ré had been on our list for a long time and finally we came round to going there. Off season perfect (we'd hate to think what times are like high season ...) with lovely villages, great walks, and super places to eat. And this rental is special: apart from location (100%) and decoration (same) etc the owners are just lovely, attentive and keen to help you out whenever necessary. We'd go again any time. For us, being over 6 ft 1 both the only set back was the double bed: a bit narrow and a foot end ... Understand the layout of the room makes it difficult but it might be an 11 plus if the bed were bigger.

It's been a weird year and I thought I had submitted a review before. Quod non. So, a bit belated: summarising, this is one of the best rentals we've come across: location 5 minutes from the beach, 2 minutes from the fantastic bakery (good for breakfast too!), a perfect patio front and back. Just wonderful. The reason this review is sub-titled 'with a very personal and emotional memory' is that one of the two Labradors we visited with (Moes and Nuit) had to be put asleep ... She was only 11 years old and was diagnosed with cancer end September. Four weeks later her whole body was full of bad cells ... we miss her every day.

“A lovely week in La Noue”
Reviewed September 17, 2017 for a stay in September 2017

This was a lovely place for our week's stay in La Noue. The house is very comfortable with a spacious living room/kitchen, one bedroom and a bathroom all well furnished and modern. There's also a nice garden area at the front with parking and a paved yard at the back both getting the sun. The village/small town of La Noue has all the facilities we needed ie bakery/patissierie (x2), restaurants and a regular market along with local cycle hire shops. The house is only about 200 metres from the village square so great for getting to the bakery for the morning baguette/croissant. But it also very quiet and secluded. We loved it.

“A welcome return to a charming rental!”
Reviewed August 16, 2017 for a stay in August 2017

We returned to la Noue having stayed last year and loved the ile de re experience. The cottage did not disappoint a second time. It was as welcoming, well appointed, private and well located as we remembered and enjoyed last year. We were delightedwe chose to come back. La Noue is a quiet corner of the ile de re but a perfect base from which to explore the island. We rented bikes from Cycland down the street and cycled most places including to the beach at La Bois each day. The lovely town of St martin de re is a short cycle away as is la flotte. And the cottage is perfectly located for the Boulanger, small market, carrefour, ATM and a few small restaurants. Everything you need at the end of the street!
The cottage has many benefits: its off the street behind a gate for privacy, you can eat breakfast in the courtyard out the back and have an evening glass of wine on the pair of deckchairs out the front. On the one wet day we had, we caught up on two James Bond movies from the DVD collection in a cupboard, comfortable in the two couches is the living room and safe from the elements! We were delighted with the gem of a stay and recommend it fully.

“Magical!”
Reviewed July 24, 2017 for a stay in May 2017

The cottage has been beautifully restored and furnished and was just perfect for the two of us.
A tasteful, spacious, bright house which is very well equipped with high quality items.
The walled court yard was quiet and private – a great place to dine outside in the warm sun! And good parking and bike storage at the front a must with the narrow streets.
Every day we walked 2 minutes to the market to buy delicious local fish, cheese, bread and pastries. The beach was also within easy walking distance for an evening stroll.
We hired cycles from the shop at the end of the road an excellent way of travelling around the rest of this wonderful island on flat safe cycle tracks. A truly magical week...
