The village of La Noue is very typical of the Ile de Re. It is unspoilt, quiet and very restful. All essential services are available a short distance away.
Cycle routes are safe – if you follow a good map, and there are many cycle hire shops available.
No 11 Rue de la Tonnelle is a comfortable, well appointed cottage. It has a good kitchen and bathroom and is well decorated. Its back yard is a very good sun-trap (although the neighbours were noisy by day and night).
However, it was surprising that, although wi-fi was advertised, the local agent wasn’t able to operate it. Also, with so many TV many channels available, and with the property advertised on an English-language web-site, there was no English-language TV channel available.
Sadly, the local agent's customer service attitude needs attention.

Wi Fi is advertised at the cottage and the guests are emailed the password it is also available at the cottage, our agent is there to check that the house and garden is clean and tidy, meet and great and deal with any emergencies, she is a very helpfully lady that went in her own time to try and help Mr & Mrs T who did not know how to connect their operating system to a new connection, for the agent it is very difficult as people use many types of software and the English keypad is also laid out differently to the French, but she always tries to help wherever she can, on this occasion she was told to leave as she was only any use to show them where the bathroom was, I was extremely shocked that someone could be this rude to someone that had done nothing but try their best.
We have never advertised any type of cable or satellite TV and I am sorry that just because the house is advertised on English web site that Mr & Mrs T would expect it, there is a selection of English movies and sit coms at the house. At no point in the future will be adding English TV channels for us it’s a joy to be away from it.
Again I apologies for the neighbours noise but I do not quite understand where it could of come from, it is normally quite almost silent, we went to house in March when the house to the right was on the market as the old man had sadly died, we have just returned the house has now sold but there is still no signs of anyone moving in. The other side is owned by a French family as a holiday home, we have only ever known it to be use on a weekend but it is possibly full for the month of August or at other times when we have not been there, we only ever hear them eating lunch/dinner in the garden normal levels of laughter and clattering of knives and fork etc. The French are very good at being considerate to their neighbours.
I feel that Mr & Mrs T could have had a good holiday if they understood that this type of holiday is an independent one and was in France not England.
