Under its previous owners as L'Angle, this restaurant was a delicious secret for those who knew the area and the goats cheese on toast was something else...
However, now as Le Comptoir du Marche , this restaurant has become a firm favourite in Jonzac for either lunch or dinner. The food is noticeably fresh and exciting, the owners friendly and knowledgeable and the ambience perfect. The signature dish is flambéed prawns where the crustaceans are large and succulent and Cognac provides the "bite".
It will be interesting to watch (and taste) the owners efforts to keep the menu exciting and varied as autumn and winter approach.
Very highly recommended.
