B and B hotels are well known throughout France . The one at Coquelles is very well placed for the tunnel so it's ideal for catching an early shuttle to get back to the UK . Its close to Auchan with cheap diesel and booze to fill up before re-entering the UK and a Buffallo Grill ( which has free wi fi for when the hotel wifi fails to materialise) for a last taste of a decent steak frites. beds are comfortable , rooms very basic( we take our picnic chairs in) but shower excellent. Its even got British TV stations to make you feel at home!. Their breakfasts are excellent as long as you avoid the rather bizarre powdered eggs and use the scrappy bacon for a bacon sandwich. Its cheerful , its ( fairly) cheap and above all its in the right place. What more can you want?

We have stayed here many times on the way to our holiday home in Poitou Charentes. It's very convenient for us as we are a family of 4 and sometimes it's quite difficult in France to fine a hotel that will accommodate more than 3 to a room. It's also dog friendly which is good for us too as we always take our Jack Russell. Breakfast is adequate with the usual pastries, cereals, yogurt and toast, they also provide bacon and eggs but unfortunately this is not so good!
I would recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a stopover in Calais, there is also a buffalo grill, supermarket and fuel station nearby which is great for filling up with a long journey ahead as the fuel is so expensive on the autoroute.

First time we have used this chain of budget hotels. The reception staff were very friendly and efficient and spoke very good English. Our room was basic but absolutely spotless, rooms are not huge, but are more than adequate for an overnight stay. Shower gel dispensers are provided in the en-suite shower room, shower was nice and powerful with plenty of hot water, en-suite again isn't huge but big enough for its uses, and the shower itself is roomy. One tip I would give is to ask for a couple of extra pillows when you check in as there are only 2 in the room and these continental pillows don't seem to be as big or well stuffed as our ones in the UK. The hotel breakfast is well worth the price too, with scrambled eggs and bacon available as well as the usual continental stuff. Car park is secure and has ctv. Hotel is a fair bit out of Calais centre, but has an out of town shopping retail park very close by, takes about 2 mins to walk to it. There is a buffalo grill about 8 mins walk from the hotel and when we were there in Dec/12 and Jan/13 there was a 10% off for guests staying at the B&B hotel. Nice quiet area too.

We have stayed here many times en route for the UK. There is always a lovely welcome from the reception and the rooms are always clean and more that acceptable for the prices we pay. they are happy to accept our dogs for a small charge and the breakfast is quick and easy and you can eat as much as you want. Not bad for very little money!!

We stayed here on the night of 7th November. The rooms are accessed by a number punched into the door lock. The rooms are warm and when we were there it was very quiet. We had double beds that comprised a 6 inch mattress, on top of a board, on a low platform. Bedding was adequate but there is only one pillow per person. The TV has quite a few English channels, which makes a change. The bathroom has a shower, sink and WC with a large and small towel per person and a couple of disposable cups. There is shower gel in the shower but no soap in the sink. We had checked in by machine, which was great except it overcharged us on the tax (taxe de sejours). We had 3 rooms occupied by a total of 4 persons and were charged for 6. I emailed the company from home because I was not aware if they realised it was automatically assumed that each room would be double occupied. The hotel is close to a number of stores and an Auchan supermarket. We went to eat at CityEurope on a recommendation and took the bus from outside the hotel but had to taxi back because the bus doesn't run after 8.30 pm! Just a word of warning, it is now law in France to carry a breathalyser. They appear to have run out in France but we were able to purchase them at the AA in the Shuttle terminal. They were 6.99, not the 1 pound each we were led to believe.

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet room at the back.
