We went with our 2 kids (3 and 5) at a great low tide, whilst the music festival was on during this summer. Lovely walk, too deep in places for the kids and we had to carry which was fine. It was a lovely hot day, and we'd have loved to have bought some refreshments after our long hot walk. But...Do not expect to be able to buy a drink or ice cream, or anything to eat on the island, even if you have a festival ticket. Its france, and the 2 restaurants are closed all day and night apart from between 12-2pm. So French. Take everything you need with you. Really annoying.
