We stayed at arroplace one night, arriving on a Sunday. If you haven't been to France in August on a Sunday, there isn't alot going on for transportation. Luckily, the owner Jacques agreed to meet us at the train station. He gave us a little tour of Bayeux and the surrounding area while driving back. He really went above and beyond to make our trip memorable. The place is magnificent, right at the beach and in the heart of the town. Also, next to the D-Day museum. The rooms were private and spacious, and the vibe was great. And I proposed to my girlfriend on the hill overlooking the area. It was perfect.

Jacques is the perfect host and ambassador for Arromanches Normandy. Parking and views from this quaint B&B were restful and stress reducing. We stayed two nights and used Arromanches as are base for touring of Normandy.

We truly enjoyed staying at this neat and clean B&B located right in the heart of the D-Day beaches. The remnants of Cold Beach’s artificial harbor visible from our bedroom window provided a tangible reminder of the magnitude and complexity of D-Day’s history-changing endeavor. The location also scored high on the walkability factor, with the Musee du Debarquement and the Arromanches 360 Cinema plus several decent restaurants and a wonderful bakery within easy walking distance. Last but certainly not least, Jacques (the proprietor) provided a warm and friendly welcome as well as valuable information about the entire Normandy coast. Good place to stay if you want to experience Normandy in a down-to-earth setting.

Within an hour of making our booking at Arroplace, I received a detailed e-mail confirming our booking and providing a raft of useful information, including instructions on how to find the private parking area (which turned out to be very easy to find!).

The B&B is situated right on the sea front at Arromanches and our room overlooked the sea. The room was a good size, pleasantly decorated and perfectly clean. The bed was firm, but comfortable. Tea and coffee making facilities were available in the room, as was a TV, free Wi-Fi and a hair-dryer.

The host, Jacques, is a treasure (as is his dog, Salsa). We received a warm welcome and nothing was too much trouble during our stay. Jacques prepared superb breakfasts which we ate in our room whilst overlooking the sea through the open windows; a magnificent way to start the day.

Just one word of warning: the guest rooms are on the second floor and there is no lift so the accommodation may not be suitable for those who have difficulty with stairs. It was not a problem for us.

We would not hesitate to stay at Arroplace again.

First, Jacques is as friendly and helpful as every other reviewer has claimed. We arrived and had the slightest bit of difficulty finding the place, although it is exactly where you see it on google maps (just not obvious from the street once you're there). Head inside and Jacques will help you with parking, which is literally outside the window in a courtyard.

Our room was spartan if compared to large hotels but very clean. Our view was of the beach and ocean and was lovely. I wish we'd had more time to spend at Arroplace but sadly, one night was it. There are many, many places to eat within two minutes' walk, but not a great deal of early breakfast options.

We went to the American Cemetery from Arroplace and it was an easy 15-20 minute drive.
