Description: Set on the banks on the river Dordogne at Caudon between Grolejac and Cenac-et-Saint-Julien. The terrace is just 5 metres from the river, giving diners an idyllic setting often accompanied by wonderful sunsets over the river. The history of the building was originally as a ferry Crossing for the Dordogne, pre-dating all the bridges in the area, and hence the name of the restaurant meaning the ‘house of the ferryman’.

“Very Friendly !”

Good , simple food , nice setting along the Dordogne , and very friendly staff . Everything is there to make your evening dinner with friends a big success . One remark though : the terrasse needs some upkeep , particularly the lighting .

“Wow, amazing tapas with exceptional views”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 23, 2013

A real hidden gem but so glad we found it. The best thing about this restaurant was the service as they were friendly unobtrusive and always smiling. The good was exceptional and we had all the tapas with no bad ones. The mussels and the whitebait were the best. The location is great and want to come back for lunch. Best meal we have had in France

“Perfect stop for a canoeing lunch”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 22, 2013

This is a great little place with a view of the river, right on the bank. The tapas were superb and it really is somewhere that should be used as a canoe lunch stop, as there is room to bank your boat just below. Definitely recommended.

“Food, views and service to savour”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 7, 2013

We visited with two friends and sat outside with stunning views across the river Dordogne, the staff were extremely helpful and polite and speak fluent french and english.
We order different courses each and all of them were outstanding.
The desert was described by my friend as the best Cheesecake she has ever eaten, so much so we asked the chef for the recipe.
This is a place we will visit again and again.
