We stopped here for lunch before conquering the fort overlooking this charming town. We each had a delicious omelette that was almost souffle-like, and they had an excellent range of beer. It was one of the few times I got to try an actual locally brewed beer on this trip. The staff are very nice, and one gentleman is from LA and has been in La Roche since the '70s.

Traditional brasserie with good food, value for money and good qualty, and the menu/brasserie card/carte includes food and dishes for all ages (incl. kids). Love the place both in summer (terrace and view !) and winter (cosy and warm). Very friendly personnel, I last had the trout (truite/forel) which was very tasty and well served, kids enjoyed the boulettes and fries ... Great place for a great dinner !

I think a table overlooking the river here is one of the best spots to enjoy a mainly meat-focused brasserie style meal. Steak, duck, lamb, chicken, all in a variety of rich local sauces are their speciality, and very well cooked they are.
Manager is a jovial friendly guy, staff all good, but some don't have much English.
It's in no way fancy here, but very wholesome and hearty. I liked it and it was excellent value too.
But if you are looking for a "gastronomique" experience then go elsewhere,

Stopped off for some lunch on a trip around the sights of the Battle of the Bulge. Manager was very friendly and food was good. However, young waiter pretended he didn't understand when I tried to order a Coke which was a little irritating. Just shows how the smallest things can blight a good experience.
