“Classic older hotel, very enjoyable stay”
Reviewed March 3, 2013

The Mozart is a classic style older hotel, our room was a bit jaded but the public areas and other parts of the hotel were well maintained. The hotel is located near the edge of town, but only a 5 minute or so walk to the centre. The ski bus stops right outside the door and only takes 5 minutes to the main ski area. The sauna area is modern and well maintained, and was never busy, The food was pretty good Austrian fare, nothing amazing but pleasant enough. serice was also fine. We would hae no qualms about staying here again. The town of Bad gastein itself is a nice enough place but is a built in a steep alley so you always seem to be walking uphill, so avoid if you struggle to get around easily. The ski area is vast and interesting enough tro keep most people happy for a week.

The hotel is 100 years old. The hotel surely had some glorious past. Now it is still fine and looks a little nostalgic. Its location is right at the ski bus stops, which makes it very convenient. There are other hotels closer to the main lift, but they are further from the bus stops. The food is fine on some days, acceptable in others. A fondue night and a carvery night were included. The lift is small but is perfectly fine. The room we had was rather large, and had a balcony. Wifi is a chargeable but there is plenty of free wifi on the mountain.

The Mozart is a rather big a bit worn down rustic hotel. The rooms vary but are quite OK, clean and relatively spatious with balconies and inviting bathrooms. Hotel service is friendly but varying depending on the individual employees. Breakfast buffet was good but dinner nothing special and hardly OK. There is a charge for WiFi-access. The location is close to the main road with a ski bus stop conveniently right outside. However walking the 700 metres from the railway station or ski lift with big bags or equipment is not recommended due to the very steep and hilly terrain.

Room Tip: Ask for a large room or a room with a nice bathroom because they vary quite a lot.

Hotel Mozart was everything we expected. Nice, clean and friendly.
Dinner was included, as was the breakfast too.
Better be careful, dinner had some sausages that were so greasy. Could not eat them. :)
Over all, the hotel is recommeded by me, would stay again.
Almost forgot, beds were wonderful, tha blankets and pillows were huge and puffy.

I stayed at the Mozart during the Easter break 2012 for three nights for a bit of skiing. It is on the side of the town but that doesn't matter because Bad Gastein is not very big and the centre is a 10 minute walk away. That way you can get to know a very beautiful town. The mountain views from the balcony are spectacular. The rooms are big, well furnished and a with tv. The breakfast is very filling and sets you up for the day's skiing or hiking. The staff are very pleasant. I was allowed to stay the day I left up to the evening without any extra charge, which enabled me to ski all day and then return to my room, take a shower and pack before taking the train to Salzburg. The decor of the hotel is very stylish and very well maintained. Wood dominates the traditional look. The ski bus stops directly outside Overall, my stay was very pleasant and I would certianly recommend the hotel to single travellers as well as couples and families. A beautiful location and a great hotel.

This hotel is definitly worth the money. It is placed just beside the bus stop, so yu can easily get to both the centre of Bad Gastein and Bad Hofgastein ect. The food is a mixture of Austrian and international courses and every day you get to choose from two starters, two main courses together with dessert. The atmosphere is cosy, but a little old fashioned. The only thing to complain about is the missing individual lockers for our skies in the ski basement. Other hotels have one locker for each room in the hotel.
But we loved our stay and I would recommend the place to others!

A good hotel with perfect location, excellent food and nice staff. You get a nice breakfast and for dinner you can chose from 2 starters and 2 mains. Our room was big and the bed was very comfy. We also used the sauna a lot. The ski bus stops just outside the hotel and it takes you a few minutes up the hill to the ski lift. I strongly recommend this hotel.
