We had a one-bedroom suite with one king size bed, which really was two beds put together, and a bunk bed. All beds were nice. The bathroom was nice as well, good shower, bench space and a nice towel drier which we used for clothes...
The room(s) had plenty of storage space for boots, helmets etc. making the stay comfortable.

Downsides: The bed pillows were too large, but they gave us softer ones quickly. There was no in-room ventilation making the air bad and too warm, although we had turned off the heating radiators. We had to open the balcony door open from time to time to ventilate and cool down. The reception was open only a few hours during our week-long stay, but the reception at Salzburger Hof is only a phone call away.

We stayed on B&B basis. Breakfast was decent, but no welcome and little hospitality, only the guy seemed happy.

Location: Some decent restaurants close by. The main street, ski lift (Stubnerkogel) is a steep walk away, however does not take more than ten minutes. We ended up taking a taxi at around €10 one-way, and walked quite easily back home.

Room tip: Higher floors gives better view and less street noise

Eden Rock is newly renovated and offers rooms with modern alpine style. We were offered a double room on the top floor with spectacular views over the valley. Both the room and the bathroom were quite spacious, and I was impressed that there was a hair dryer with a diffuser for curly hair. The wifi was quite fast, even though all the guests used the same password. The mini bar is spacious and you can fit your own drinks there as well.

The hotel has its own ski storage. Walking to the lift area can be a bit steep, however I followed the advice on Tripadvisor and took the elevator inside Salzburger Hof. The entrance is 50 m to the right of Eden Rock, and 7 floors later you are on top of the hill. Similarly, to access the lower parts of the village, I used to take the elevator inside Bellevue hotel, which is 40 m to the left. Basically, no matter where you are staying in Bad Gastein, some sort of climbing will have to be done. It is an alpine resort after all. And if you really don’t want to carry skis around, you can rent a spot in any of the storage facilities around the ski lifts.

The entire area is very pretty and since STS Alpresor owns most of the surrounding buildings, you get access to most of the facilities. There are plenty of restaurants and bars around, and the famous Silverbullet After ski is 20 m away. We had half board, and the breakfast was in cosy Restaurant Angelo on the first floor of Eden, while the dinner was in Restaurant Wildbad, on the 1st floor of Salzburger Hof. It was a nice variation.

The reception has limited opening hours, however the reception at Salzburger Hof is always at the guests disposal. I would definitely stay at Eden again, if I am to return to Bad Gastein.

Hard uphill walk from hotel to main street and sking slopes. Good breakfast. Nice rooms. Ski storage downstairs, but we used another one at Schober for more convenient location, decent pricing 20€ per week.

Room tip: Jag hade rum på våning 5 mot gatan, ingen trafik alls så man blir inte störd. Skulle dock önskat sol på balkongen.
