“nice cloudforest but really no guide needed for puma trail”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 16, 2013

we went there to hike the puma trail, they ask you to get a guide. We paid 20$ in toal for an english speaking guide (in spanish 15$). The track leads through nice cloud forest and offers a few nice views, well, if its not cloudy or hazy. The whole track is along steps so I don't know why you would need a guide. You cannot get lost and its not a challenge to walk either. Ok, exhausting but the guide cannot help you with that ;-) We saw a few people without a guide - I would recommend to just walk the trail alone. Its well signposted and nobody is checking when you walk in, as there are othe rtracks for which you dont need guides anyway.

“Great time!”

We went with Erick's tours. It was very interesting and exciting. We had the tour guide to ourselves and he answered all of our questions.

“Zip Lining was Amazing!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 13, 2013

If you are looking for zip lining, this place was amazing from start to finish. From what I can glean, negative comments are related to the tour operator people choose, not the zipline experience itself. We hired a driver, and he waited in the parking lot for us. We felt extremely safe the entire time, and always had a zip line staff member with us. The crew were amazing. They treated us like royalty from start to finish. As soon as we signed up, they put a flower behind the ear of our 6 year old daughter. She felt like a princess! We went for 9 stations, and they made it fun and safe for everyone. They were extremely accommodating with our camera, took many pics and video for us. The cost of zip line was extremely reasonable for the service and attention provided, so we made sure to utilize the tip container at the end of the tour! you will pass over some local people's huts (where they live), see some agriculture and livestock, as well as probably monkeys and maybe an iguana or two. This was the highlight of our two week vacation for our children (ages 6 and 11), and mom and dad had a pretty great time too! At the end of the tour, there was a spot to purchase cold drinks, and coffee grown on the mountain for a very good price. All four of us would highly recommend zip lining at Mombacho!

“Do you like to walk”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 11, 2013

Long walk around the area and lots of uphill huffing and puffing if not in reasonable shape. Some lovely views out on Lake Nicaruaga and the countryside.

“A ride out in a Tuk Tuk”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 11, 2013

A tuktuk ride to the volcano. Hard hat and resperator are part of the precautions. It was interesting looking over the edge of a volcano and the sulfer smell was enough to set one back on ones heels. Nice views of the low lands.
