This is a lovely hotel that is very close to the main plaza and night activities, but far enough to provide a quiet night's sleep. The entire staff was terrific and were a great help with all of our travel arrangements. Very clean and well maintained. The breakfasts were delicious and beautifully presented in a wonderful setting. The rooms are a bit small, but the courtyards are spacious and provide plenty of lovely places to sit and read, relax, swim, or have very reasonably priced drinks.

This very stylish residence located in a side street is a marvel, everything is kept in order with such sense of detail. My room on the ground floor was perfect, with a high quality bed, a nicely tiled bathroom and a hot (!) shower. The 2 lovely inner patio's, one with a small pool, are a heaven. Price was very reasonable and breakfast a pleasure.

Patio del Malinche is perfect: location, staff, building, food - all perfect. Everything was clean Everyone was helpful, an easy, pleasant walk to most of the sites of the city. The rooms aren't large but if your stuff won't fit in comfortably you are carrying too much.

Room Tip: Just hope you are lucky enough to get in.

Nothing about this place will disappoint. We spent our first 3 nights in Nicaragua here and would happily return. Helpful and friendly staff throughout, immaculately kept with reception leading to a peaceful open coutyard to relax and eat breakfast. Through again to a second coutyard with a neat little bar serving drinks from 7:30 to 22:00 and a very welcome pool. The 18 rooms are arranged aroumd thr pool on the ground and first floor and are comfortable and quiet. The pool area is not used after 10pm (and this is respectfully enforced) to ensure residents are not disturbed, still leaving the first coutyard available to sit out late. Wonderful.

Patio del Malinche has not on e patio but two & is a very well appointed Nicaraguan style hotel. It's gardens and outdoor spaces are lovely & a welcome relief from the heat & bustle of Granada.
Rooms are simple but tasteful if a bit small Hotel staff were notably helpful & kind.

This was the last stop on a Costa Rica and Nicaragua tour my husband and I went on. Based on the caliber of the other hotels we stayed in, I expected a bit more but overall it was an enjoyable experience. The hotel is very close to the heart of Granada so it is a little noisy and in a nondescript location. The room was very small and our queen bed was two twins pushed together but it was clean and obviously no one goes on vacation for the room. The service was great and the breakfast good.

During our tour of Central America, my husband suffered severe diarrhoea by the time we got to Nicaragua. He needed to take a day out when we got to Granada, where we were staying in the very pretty colonial hotel, Patio del Malinche. The owners called a doctor for him and even collected the prescription from the chemist. They also didn't mind laundring my husband's clothes, which had suffered accidents due to his condition. And over and above that, they cooked him their well proven rice soup and looked after him while I went out sightseeing with the group. I can't praise the attitude of the staff and their helpfulness too highly and also the wonderfully relaxing and gorgeous hotel grounds. If you have to fall ill, do it in style at Patio del Malinche in Granada, Nicaragua. And if you are not ill, enjoy it anyway!!! The fruit plate that comes with breakfast is unforgettable.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
More than a place in the world, a house is a place in one's heart. El Patio del Malinche is more than just another hotel, it's a dream come true. Our interest to live in a different culture and to get to know new horizons took us to the ancient town of Granada. The sun-dried bricks of Granada's old walls and the hospitality of its people bewitched us. By restoring an old colonial house we relived a life of peace and serenity created by its inside patios full of history. We hope our guests will be able to revive and share with us the atmosphere of other times. We will be delighted to share our house, where life pours from every corner. ... more   less
