Description: Modern environment in a neoclassical property constructed in 1886. We've forged a relationship with Nicaragua's best coffee producers to provide you with an excellent cup. High altitude, shade grown boutique crops yield coffees with a crisp and balanced acidity, roundness, sweetness and rich chocolate-like brews. These farmers know what they do. The poetry is ever intended at Espressonista. On your table we serve local, slightly smoked ham. The brie, the camembert and manchego are also from Masatepe and Matagalpa. Organic lettuce, baby asparagus and other greens from Ticuantepe. Chez nous, we know where everything comes from. We bake our own pastries and breads, make our own ice creams, brew our own beer. We love food, drink and good company. Join us!

We were staying near by at Miss Margarites, and were so happy to find out it was near our hotel. The service was excellent. We really enjoyed talking to Andreas, one of the owners about the menu, the ingredients and where they come from and his love of food. Every part of the meal was delicious from the creamy cold almond soup with watermelon, to the mango and machengo cheese salad, veal ossobuco, Moroccan dish, wine, coffee --and especially the basil ice cream, peanut butter, chocolate, with seasalt ice cream, and the chocolate orange ice cream. My only regret is that we did not go back for breakfast or lunch. We have eaten at the Garden Café (which we really like), El Zaguan (also like), Kathy's Waffle House (would not go back there), and Plaza Colon. Espressionista is simply fabulous and it was our best meal of our 3 week trip. Is it more expensive than other options, yes, but it is worth it and it is a fraction of what we pay for a similar meal in the U.S.

LET'S HEAR IT FROM BOISE!!

Woowho!

We hope you've made it made it back to Idaho recharged and refreshed with all your experiences of travelling in Nicaragua. You're children are so lucky to be seeing and experiencing the world at such a young age, and we were lucky to share an evening with your family.

Remember, one trip is never enought to see all the wonders of Central America.
So we hope to see you again some time.

Thank you very much for sharing your experience at our hole in the wall.
All the best,

Andres

“Blighme!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 17, 2014

My girlfriend and I spend our last day in Granada in this café.
We walked past it, must have been three pm, had a look and decided to stay for an iced tea.
We sat in the inner courtyard which at that time was filled with the scent of jasmine, but actually our waitress said it was an Ylang-Ylang tree in the garden. We had homemade ice creams, my girlfriend had the peanut butter, banana and sea salt and I had the basil ice cream. We left at about eight pm, after a lovely dinner. We just couldn't seem to want to leave this tranquil, beautiful place. The service was excellent, our waitress Angela made our evening. The food, well...if it weren't our last day, we'd probably spent more time at Espressonista. The prices are a bit high compared to what you get everywhere else, but then again, you don't get this anywhere else in Granada. it was certainly worth it. Thank you guys for making our last day so special.

Dear Nicolas,

Thank you for taking time share your experience chez nous.
Yes the Ilang-Ilang tree reminds us that most times the simplicity of nature, in all its fragrance, is truly awesome. Thank you and your fiancée for filling the air at Espressonista with so much positivity. We really enjoyed looking after you.

Receive the very best wishes
from all of us at the café

“A hidden gem in Granda”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 31, 2014

While visiting Granada from Los Angeles, we stumbled upon this incredible place and had a wonderful experience. From the moment you step inside you'll feel the charm this restaurant offers. It's in an old home with beautiful high ceilings, large doors opening onto the sidewalk and a very charming interior courtyard where you can enjoy your meal and watch the chefs at work. Our favorite dish of the night was the Ajo Blanco, which was a gazpacho style dish with a creamy base made of almonds. The vegetarian lasagna and fish entrees were fresh and phenomenal. To top off the night, we enjoyed a nice chocolate cake with homemade ice cream. We're just sorry we came here on our first night in Granada because we can't imagine we'll find another place as good in the city! Andres and all the others working there, thank you for a wonderful welcome to Granada!

Dear Ryan,

Thank you coming and giving us a try.

I'm sure you discovered Granada is full of great restaurants. Hopefully you met the guys at the Garden Café, Bocadillos, and Café de los Sueños, and hope you tried Andrea's Pan de Vida, all of these places have owners who are committed to provide a great food experience. So we are happy you guys chose Nicaragua over Hawaii.

Thank you so much sharing your experience with others on this blog.
All the best,

Andres L.

Do send Zaro a big hug from my part.

“Treasure of a find!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 31, 2014

I have reservations about the "voted number one" anything so it was with some hesitation that I decided to have my birthday dinner here 2 nights ago. This place exceeds the position it holds on Tripadvisor. The Ajo Blanco was really beyond incredible and the Osso bucco was classic and done perfectly. We also had a Moorish pork loin dish that was way over the top. Finishing things off with a dense chocolate cake and a glass of a Hungarian plum liqueur. The owner is warm and genuine and the staff exudes pride. The love and passion in everything served comes through loud and clear. Thank you for making this birthday meal one that will be remembered.

Dear Adam,

Thank you for joining us Sunday evening.
We're pleased you found everything to your liking.
Thank you for being so patient. We realise the food may have taken a little longer
to come out all once, but we're very happy that everyone had a good time.

We wish you a great continuation of your travels in Nicaragua.

Best,
