Description: Modern environment in a neoclassical property constructed in 1886. We've forged a relationship with Nicaragua's best coffee producers to provide you with an excellent cup. High altitude, shade grown boutique crops yield coffees with a crisp and balanced acidity, roundness, sweetness and rich chocolate-like brews. These farmers know what they do. The poetry is ever intended at Espressonista. On your table we serve local, slightly smoked ham. The brie, the camembert and manchego are also from Masatepe and Matagalpa. Organic lettuce, baby asparagus and other greens from Ticuantepe. Chez nous, we know where everything comes from. We bake our own pastries and breads, make our own ice creams, brew our own beer. We love food, drink and good company. Join us!

“The five stars spot in Granada!”
Reviewed April 25, 2014

If you were looking for a reason to visit Granada you now got an excellent one!!
Apart from the tourist center this restaurant is the best choice for a true pleasure moment. The menu is very developed with fresh and well prepared ingredients. You can taste their local brewed beer changing every week and you won't resist to their pastries for dessert!! A very nice mix of world and Nicaraguan food in a great setting.
The service is perfect and andres the owner is a very friendly and incredibly cultivated guy! We've really enjoyed our time spent there and our discussion with andres.

A great place for a lunch/diner/beer/coffee or even to go trough and look at their nice crafts and clothes sold in the backyard.

Enjoy!!

“Great experience...except for the surprise at the end!”
Reviewed April 16, 2014

The place has an amazing ambiance. My friend and I arrived fresh off the bus from Costa Rica and it was the first place we saw that was open. We were promptly greeted and everyone was friendly. The drinks and food were excellent. Our only issue was the bill. We expected it to be a bit pricey given the decor etc. but the salad my friend ordered had been listed as $6 and on the bill it was $12.... Yes, it's only $12, but it was double the amount she expected to pay.

Dear Shannon,

Thank your for the very fair review.
We are please you enjoyed everything up to the point of payment.

Your friend ordered specifically a salad of organic vegetables grilled with olive oil, with warm goat cheese, organic mixed greens and a tahini-lime dressing as a main, the item is not listed on the menu. She said a friend a friend of hers had had and recommended it. The starter salad, listed on the menu, was indeed six dollars. The starter is much smaller than the main. The portion was priced accordingly.

We are honestly sorry for the unpleasant surprise.
We really wish to make every aspect, especially the very last one, be as enjoyable as the beginning. Otherwise we would be a tourist trap, and this is very far from our goal. It is our mistake for not letting your friend know the price of the item she was ordering, a practice we always follow. It was just a surprise that she knew all about an item that was not listed or mentioned but did not know the cost of it.

Thank you for writing about your experience as it helps us to improve our service.
We must never assume that someone who knows so much an unlisted item would not know the price. It is an error on our part.

Pass on our sincerest apologies to your friend.
Sincerely,

A. Lazar

“Worth the walk ”
Reviewed April 6, 2014 via mobile

Espressionista was recommended to us by a fellow traveler . It's located a good 10-15 min walk from the park central but it's worth the walk. Our dinner wine and dessert were outstanding. We liked it so much we walked all the way back one day just for coffee. The service is great . It's a little spendy for Granada but I was so taken with the food etc that I happily paid . A must do for any foodie or coffee connoisseur.

“Really nice coffee and good food!”
Reviewed March 31, 2014

Espressonista is a small coffee shop near parc Xalteva and Iglesia Xalteva. It is definitely worth a visit! The food is prepared in an open kitchen and all the sources used are fresh and organic. I have seen a couple of coffee places in Granada but Espressonista has definitely the best coffee.
