Description: Modern environment in a neoclassical property constructed in 1886. We've forged a relationship with Nicaragua's best coffee producers to provide you with an excellent cup. High altitude, shade grown boutique crops yield coffees with a crisp and balanced acidity, roundness, sweetness and rich chocolate-like brews. These farmers know what they do. The poetry is ever intended at Espressonista. On your table we serve local, slightly smoked ham. The brie, the camembert and manchego are also from Masatepe and Matagalpa. Organic lettuce, baby asparagus and other greens from Ticuantepe. Chez nous, we know where everything comes from. We bake our own pastries and breads, make our own ice creams, brew our own beer. We love food, drink and good company. Join us!

Visited Granada this past weekend with my husband and ended up at Espressonista three times!!! The food was great; especially the vegetable salad (hello fresh goat cheese, grilled zucchini, avocado and amazing tahini dressing!) the cheese plate (fresh crusty bread!) and the coffee! I can't forget to mention the creme brulee made with a shortbread crust, the perfect ending to a great meal!

We had the chance to talk with one of the owners and he made our time there that much better. It's really refreshing dining at a restaurant that has owners who are really and truly passionate about what they're doing.

We will DEFINITELY be back.

If you're looking for great coffee, this is the place - none of that weak watery stuff you find elsewhere. A nice setting. Not cheap, but id rather have one coffee here than three bad ones elsewhere. In a less touristy area of town so its nice to perch just inside and look out through the huge doors onto what's happening outside - the times we went there we saw brass bands, a most extravagant funeral, and lots of people just going about their business - its rare to get a street view in granada unless you're out on the seedy calle calzada bc most places face inwards to an internal terrace.

Very spacious, modern, hip place in an antique building. You feel so at home. The owner, Andreas (Nicaraguan), was there for our lunch and he was gracious, easy going and fun to talk with. His English is perfect (he once lived in London). His coffee is high altitude, non acidic and is extraordinary. (We are coffee snobs.) The menu is limited -- which is smart because then they concentrate on excellence. Our gazpacho soup and grilled vegetable salad was great. This place is friendly and excellent. It is not on a main tourist street, but those who care will find it. It is walkable from Centro.

Finding this place was a hike on a rainy morning in Granada, but well worth it. Great breakfast of waffles and smoked ham that the gentleman working here persuaded me to try. The waffles were perfectly soft had a mango jam as well as pieces of sweet ripe mango. The coffee was good also.
